Rahul Gandhi's Campaign Is Not Personal but the Voice of the Nation: CM D.K. Shivakumar

803 Voter IDs Linked to 397 Names After SIR: Karnataka CEO Issues Clarification

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, has issued a clarification regarding the media report titled "803 Voter IDs Linked to 397 Names After SIR".

According to the clarification dated November 7, 2026, the issue arose due to two procedural circumstances:

Multiple EPICs for the Same Elector: Some applicants submitted multiple Form 6 applications through the Citizen Service Portal. As these applications were processed independently, multiple EPIC numbers were inadvertently generated for the same individual.

Overlap Across Assembly Constituencies: In certain cases, Form 8 applications for migration were approved and voters' names were added to the electoral rolls of their new constituencies. However, the corresponding Form 7 applications for deleting their names from previous constituencies remained pending due to the statutory freezing of electoral roll operations for final publication.

Action Taken:

The cases have been referred to the respective District Election Officers, Additional District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers for thorough verification and necessary corrective action in accordance with the law.

The Election Commission has reiterated its commitment to ensuring accuracy, transparency and integrity in the electoral rolls.

ASC Tornadoes Create History with 36th World Record!

The Indian Army's Army Service Corps (ASC) Motorcycle Display Team, popularly known as the ASC Tornadoes, has added another remarkable achievement to its legacy.

Ahead of the 266th Corps Day and XII Reunion, Major Amrit Panda set a new world record by covering 154 kilometres while continuously standing on the seat of a motorcycle, surpassing the previous record of 107.92 kilometres.

With this achievement, the ASC Tornadoes have taken their cumulative tally to 36 World Records.

Established in 1982, the team has earned recognition for its extraordinary motorcycle formations, daring displays and precision performances across the country.

The record-breaking feat was witnessed by Lieutenant General Ajay Ramdev, SM, Commandant, ASC Centre and College, Bengaluru, who congratulated Major Amrit Panda and the entire Tornadoes team.
