PokePulse is about what’s really happening behind the Pokémon card market.
I cover the stories, lawsuits, grading companies, market moves, pricing trends, and industry decisions that can actually affect collectors and the value of their cards.
That means digging into companies like PSA, Beckett, SGC, Collectors, major marketplaces, auction houses, and anyone else influencing where the hobby is headed.
The goal isn’t to chase hype or tell you what card to buy next. It’s to understand why prices are moving, who benefits, what risks collectors should be paying attention to, and what the biggest stories in the hobby actually mean.
If you care about the business and economics behind Pokémon cards—not just the cards themselves—you’re in the right place.
Keep stacking. Protect your assets.

PSA has released an update on the FedEx theft: 6,451 items were stolen.
There is a lot of good information, especially about how they determine fair market value for more rare items.
But here is what collectors need to know:
• The FBI and Santa Ana police are investigating.
• PSA published the complete stolen-item list and deactivated certification numbers for the stolen graded items.
• Grading fees have been refunded separately from compensation for the stolen items.
• For orders using PSA’s return shipping and insurance, payments are already going out. Compensation is based on each item’s fair market value, capped at its Maximum Insured Value.
• If an item is recovered later, its owner can choose between keeping the compensation or getting the item back.
Refunding grading fees separately and giving collectors that recovery option are positive steps.
The biggest question I’m watching: how closely will PSA’s valuations match what collectors would actually have to pay to replace their cards?
If you’re affected and have received a valuation or payment, how has the process gone?
