Saad ibn Ishaq said: Abu Sumamah Hanat narrated to me that he was going to the mosque when Ka’b ibn Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) met him on the way, and the two met. He said: He found me interlacing the fingers of my two hands, so he forbade me from doing so, saying: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “When one of you performs ablution properly and then intends to go to the mosque, he should not interlace the fingers of his two hands, for he is in prayer.”

It was narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) saw spit on the wall facing the Qiblah and wiped it off. Then he turned to the people and said: “When one of you is praying, let him not spit in front of his face, for Allah is in front of his face when he is praying.”
