I don't feel like writing this, or sharing the terrible news. I don't want the attention or sympathy. I hate that I have to explain what happened to Sully on the internet. But you all knew him and loved him, so you deserve to know. My wife and I really appreciate how supportive you all were this week during his recovery⊠and he was doing so, so good.
On Saturday we were playing in the yard with his brother Juno, getting belly rubs and eating treats, and he even jumped into bed and slept next to me.
I woke up Sunday morning to a loud moan, and began giving him CPR -- chest compressions, mouth-to-mouth. Juno was there, crying; encouriging him to keep fighting. But I guess it was just his time.
My wife and I held him for a long while and said our goodbyes. Digging his grave and laying my sweet boy to rest took absolutely everything I had.
I tried to keep myself busy by teaching two classes yesterday -- bad idea. I'm not ready. I lost my best friend and it's going to take time to recover.
No uploads or streams this week.
Sully, I'm choosing to believe that your soul is omnipresent, that you can still see and hear me. You were the best. Thank you for your authenticity, comfort and support, adventurous spirit, fearlessness, jokes and silliness, and the most amazing 10 years of my life. I had so much fun and felt a love so pure that made life worth living. Rest well, miss you so much, bud.
Unto stardust, the ethereal, and back again.

This is a PUBLIC SERVICE announcement: Itâs on YOU to encourage the next generation to âchop wood and carry waterâ.
When hope is all but lost because of AI, the economy, instant gratification apps, and all the other fun stuff billionaires are doing to mess with our futureâŠ
âŠYOU must teach the kids that discipline is cool; martial arts gives you the ability to explore and improve your mind and body. The body is your instrument, and your style is the music.
What will you create together?
Offer help by being their training partner. Give them study material. And remind them that itâs most important to stick with it, especially when they donât want to.
A gentle nudge.
I almost quit martial arts when I was 12? But my dad didnât let me.
And I thank him every day for that.

Remember back in 2011 when the YouTube legend, Kwonkicker, won his Muay Thai debut in Thailand with a turning back kick to the liver in the very first round? He was gracious enough to show me a drill he used to âwarm up his accuracyâ, saying thatâs literally all he did in the locker room before this match.
Micah was pivotal in helping me develop my 10-week IKS striking curriculum that my team and I have been implementing over the years.
Registration for our next round is now open â we start Sept 7 on MAGNVS: magnvs.io/pages/daily-kickboxing-program?via=fightâŠ

POV: you have your first Muay Thai match coming up. Everybody always daydreams of landing sick combos on the outside, maybe setting up the question mark kick with some teeps, and finishing their opponent with some clean boxing and a Haggerty-type tomahawk elbow for a sensational KO.
The truth is: youâre inevitably going to end up in the clinch â a lot. Beginners tend to only go forward, and itâs a recipe for a messy clinch war. And most people get tired there. Either because they rely on strength (instead of leverage), or because they eat a bunch of knees to the body.
Unless youâre the better knee-fighter; most amateur Muay Thai fights are won (and lost) in the clinch. Featured is a clip of our athlete Mike Monte who had his first match last weekend in the 2026 WKA Nationals. Check out that clean knee in the clinch.
If youâd like to learn more about how to dominate at close range, come to my seminar next week in NYC: www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/5773ZXXCZW8T6
All experience levels encouraged to join, even if you never intend on competing!
Learn the clinch strategies that most people overlook, and at a minimum, you wonât âchange the channelâ the next time youâre watching a âboringâ clinch war đ
