Paired and Powered Up

Welcome to Paired and Powered Up; two people, two body types, one honest answer on whether that piece of equipment actually fits you.

We’re Jeff and Perrin, a husband-and-wife team reviewing home gym equipment. We test every product, Jeff at 5'11" and Perrin at 5'5", so you hear how a machine works for two different bodies, not just one.

Most channels tell you how a machine fits the person holding the camera. We tell you how it fits two different bodies.

We train on every product for weeks before filming, testing equipment across The Swole Studio (our garage gym) and The Swole Sofa (our living room setup). We cover both dedicated-space and small-space gyms.

Racks, Smith machines, all-in-ones, adjustable dumbbells, benches, leg machines, cardio, and the accessories that can make or break a setup- we test them all.

If something is wrong, we’ll say it. If it’s worth your money, we’ll say that too.

Real equipment. Two bodies. Weeks of testing. No BS.

New reviews weekly.

🛒 Prime Day is here, and this is gear we've actually reviewed.

Watch the review. Check the deal. That's the whole system 😄

We trained on every piece below in our own home gym before a camera came out. We loved some of it, some came with honest caveats, and every review tells you which is which. Here's the full list in the comments, with the review and the Amazon link side by side.

Nothing here for you? Use our Amazon storefront for anything else you're buying. It supports the channel at no extra cost to you 💙

Settle this in the comments. What's your go-to way to train glutes? 🍑

🏋️ Barbell hip thrusts
🦵 Squats or leg press
🔥 Machines (hip thrust, glute kickback, abduction)
🐍 Cables or bands
🍑 Something weird I'll have to explain

Bonus points if you tell us what your glutes actually respond to best. Everyone swears by a different thing, and we want to see who's been lying to themselves.

We're about to put some gear through its paces and we'd like to hear what you'd actually use, not just what the internet says to use. 👇

What’s one piece of home gym equipment you bought that ended up being WAY better than you expected?

Could be cheap, expensive, weird, underrated, whatever.

Drop it below 👇

We’re always looking for equipment we may have overlooked, and there’s a good chance your answer puts something new on our radar.

"We said GOIMU's last machine was a hard pass. They sent us another one anyway. 👀

Redemption arc or repeat offense? Drop your guess below."

Paired and Powered Up

Something a little different is coming to Paired and Powered Up. 👀

We’ve got all three in the Swole Sofa:

WBB 1.0 ➡️ Julius Maddox × WideBody Irregular Strength Competition Flat Pad ➡️ the new WBB 2.0.

But we don’t want this to be another “here’s the bench, here are the specs, here’s what we think” review.

We’re weaving our hands-on review together with a conversation with the owner of WideBody Bench to tell the bigger story: Why does the 2.0 exist? What did they learn? What changed—and why?

And there’s a LOT behind it.

🔥 WBB 2.0 review
🔥 Owner conversation
🔥 Attachments + Rack Attach content coming
🔥 Concept2 factory tour + StrengthErg review is FINALLY in edit
🔥 Some really fun Mikolo workout/WOD content coming too

We’ve been putting a ton of work into making the next run of videos feel less like standard equipment reviews and more like something actually worth sitting down and watching.

Which one do you want to see FIRST? 👇

ONE GYM. TWO TAKES. BETTER GEAR.

The GETRX’D Hyperglide is officially together and in the studio! 👀

No full review yet—we’re going to actually use the thing first.

But while we’re putting it through its paces, we want to hear from you:

What do you want to know? What should we test? Is there anything specific you want us to cover in the full review?

Drop your questions below 👇 We’ll be reading them and adding the best ones to our testing.

Most of you know Jeff as the guy who will tell you exactly what he thinks about a piece of equipment, no filter, no fluff. What you might not know is that the same energy he brings to this channel, that relentless, show-up-every-day, give-it-everything drive, has been the foundation of who he is long before any of this existed.

From the moment he became a dad, Jeff had one goal: get home. Work hard, move fast, and be there. He found creative, active ways to fill those hours with his kids, proving that making memories doesn't take a big budget, just real effort and a lot of love.

Over the last few years, that same dedication has found a new outlet. His fitness journey isn't about aesthetics or hitting numbers for the camera. It's about being around, for a long time, for the people who matter most.

If you've watched us here at Paired and Powered Up, you've seen a little of that come through. The guy doesn't half-rep anything, in the gym or in life.

Happy Father's Day, Jeff. We're proud to build this with you, and even prouder of the man you are outside of it. ❤️

🔥 Did Perrin Find Jeff’s Replacement? 🔥

For this one, Jess is stepping in and putting the GOIMU HT01 through its paces alongside Perrin.

Two lifters. Two perspectives. Plenty of reps.

The question isn’t whether the machine works. It’s whether either of them actually liked it enough to recommend it.

Did GOIMU build a winner?

Or is this another machine that looks better on paper than it does in a real home gym?

👀 Full review coming soon.

And more importantly…

Did Perrin just find Jeff’s replacement?

Paired and Powered Up

This is one you won’t want to miss.

Back on May 2nd, during our very first training session with the HVO LC205, we ran into an issue that immediately stood out to both of us. Before we ever filmed a review, before we ever hit publish, we reached out directly to HVO and explained exactly what we were seeing.

What happened next is the part you rarely get to see.

Instead of dismissing the feedback, HVO asked questions. They reviewed photos and videos. They tested ideas internally. They sent replacement parts, wedges, and eventually delayed our review schedule while they worked toward a more complete solution.

Weeks turned into months.

Rather than rushing a video out the door, we agreed to hold off while HVO continued working on the problem.

Now, nearly two months later, a newly designed angled seat-base accessory has arrived.

This weekend we finally put it to the test.

Did HVO solve the issue?

We’re about to find out.

No matter the outcome, this is a side of the fitness equipment industry most people never see: honest feedback, open communication, and a manufacturer willing to listen when something isn’t right.

That’s a story worth telling.

🔥 Testing Is Officially Underway 🔥

When Goimu mentioned they were looking for female reviewers for the HT01 Hip Thrust Machine, Perrin saw an opportunity…

Jeff got benched. 😆

Instead, Perrin teamed up with Jessica to put this machine through its paces—and we’re taking things one step further.

Rather than bringing the HT01 into our gym, we’re testing it in Jessica’s home gym as we help her build out her training space. That means you’re getting a fresh perspective from two women evaluating how this machine fits into a real-world home gym setup.

The build is complete.
The testing has started.
And the glutes are already filing complaints. 🍑🔥

Stay tuned as we see whether the Goimu HT01 earns a permanent place in Jessica’s gym.
