Sam's Club has their chuck roast on sale for $5.18/pd down from 5.48/pd.. They come two roasts in a pack and sometimes you can get them bookmarked (same marbling and from the same cow).. I splurged and got two packs. Now I'm canning beef stew. Well, I usually make beef pies - they are sooooo good!. Planning to grind some and freeze one whole roast. Save money and go get more as long as they have the sale.

That's Din Din: This is what happens when you change your mind on the recipe half way through cooking. Had a big pot of bone chicken broth that needed consumed. Started to make chicken corn soup. Added the onions and a bag of frozen corn. Then I thought well, I should have made Amish "chicken pot pie". So I added diced potatoes and made a batch of homemade noodles. Seasoned with chicken bouillon/a pinch of salt/lots pepper/ parsley. Added a pint of canned chicken at the end. It hit the spot!
