🇬🇧 Did you know HMRC has a dedicated team for UK billionaires?

In a recent report, HM Revenue and Customs confirmed it identified over 200 billionaires with a UK tax footprint using data, public records, and international sharing.

To ensure full compliance, HMRC assigned each of them a personal "Customer Compliance Manager" (CCM) to oversee their tax filings, trusts, and offshore entities.

"We classify billionaires as individuals whose wealth HMRC estimates exceeds £1 billion and who have a UK tax footprint..." — HMRC Policy Report

👇 What do you think? Should all high net worth individuals have dedicated, 1on 1 tax managers, or should HMRC focus those resources elsewhere? Let us know in the comments! 💬

🚨 Is this the true cost of the latest Budget?

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) has released its latest economic breakdown following Chancellor John Healey’s Budget.

💰 Welfare & Spending:

● Total welfare spending is projected to hit £431.3bn by 2030/31 (up £97.5bn/year in cash terms).

● This includes £209.8bn on pensioner benefits, £110.7bn on Universal Credit, £69.6bn on disability benefits, and £13.9bn on Child Benefit.

📈 Inflation & Growth:

● Inflation is expected to peak at 3.75% in early 2027 (up from the previous 2% forecast).

● UK GDP growth is set to slow to 1% in 2027, before gradually climbing to 1.6% by 2031.

● Unemployment is forecast to rise to an average of 5.1% across 2026–2027.

🏠 Housing & Living Costs:

● Real household disposable income per person is projected to be 0.75% lower by 2030/31 than previously expected.

● Tax threshold freezes are set to raise an extra £9bn in 2026/27.

🚨 UK Minimum Wage Update 🚨

Chancellor John Healey is set to announce new National Minimum Wage rates as part of the Autumn Budget:

💼 Over 21s (National Living Wage): Increasing from £12.71 to around £13.20 per hour (~3.9% rise).

💼 18 to 20-Year-Olds: Increasing from £10.85 to around £11.27 per hour.

While Labour pledged in its manifesto to scrap discriminatory age bands over time, this marks an end to the recent sharp percentage rises for 18–20-year-olds, keeping their increase in line with older workers amid business cost concerns.

🍺 Will your pint cost more after the Budget?

Reports suggest Chancellor John Healey is set to increase alcohol duty in line with RPI inflation (3.9%) at the upcoming Autumn Budget.

Here is what that could mean for your favourite drink:

🍺 Pint of Beer: +2p (duty up from 50p to 52p)

🍷 Bottle of Wine: +10p to 12p

🍸 Bottle of Spirits: ~35p

While the Treasury traditionally doesn't comment on tax speculation before the official Budget announcement, these adjustments are widely expected.

🚨 Income Tax Shield for Pensioners Ahead of the Budget 🚨

The full new state pension is set to rise by 3.9% (a £489 boost) to £13,036 per year.

With the standard personal tax threshold currently frozen at £12,570, this increase would have pushed many retirees into paying income tax for the first time.

To prevent this, John Healey is expected to announce a targeted increase in the tax-free allowance to £13,036 ensuring pensioners whose sole income is the state pension won't face an unexpected tax bill! 💰 shield
