Daily Limits: Only 1,000 devotees are allowed entry per day.

Darshan Timings: Currently, darshan is restricted to the morning slot between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Alternatives: Daily, uninterrupted rituals (Abhishek) will continue behind closed doors, though no public access will be allowed for darshan.

Context: The renovation is part of a special development plan for the Jyotirlinga, aimed at managing, increasing crowds ahead of the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela. 

Devotees planning a visit are advised to reschedule, except for the Mahashivratri festival in February 2026.
