Royalty Now is a human-crafted channel, backed by research and vigilance. While we use generative AI for small bits of our images, they are primarily crafted in Photoshop and NEVER pulled directly from any generative AI engine. Real research, real artistry.

We are living in AI-History-Slop-Land and it can be really frustrating to see. I've been making these images since 2019, so I know how to do it - gasp! - entirely without AI. While I do use the tools now for certain things like clothing I can't find reference images of, skin texture, hair editing, and other things, I do the bulk of my work photo compositing images together. This beautiful bracelet didn't even really show in the final video (it ended up being a tad cropped), but the attention to detail was there nonetheless. I found this bracelet from Nefertiti's time in the Metropolitan Museum archive -www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/548513. I added the bracelet and some new kingdom style earrings (also from the MET) into the image in Photoshop.
It's hard not to rage against the onslaught of crap history images that have come online in the last few years. But if you're here, I think you appreciate the real work. Just know that my images are always lovingly made with care, research, and appreciation for the figures :)

Here's a real throwback for ya. This was an original Hatshepsut re-creation I did back in 2020, a few years after I was just getting my start on Instagram. It's meant to be her in the modern day, of course. I still really like this one! This was made entirely in Photoshop.

Daily History Trivia: King Edward IV adopted the "Sun in Splendor" as his personal emblem after the Battle of Mortimer's cross in 1461. Can anyone tell me WHY he did this?
EDIT: Great job everyone! It was due to the unique Parhelion phenomenon he observed in the sky that day, where the sun appears to be tripled. While it initially frightened his troops, he quickly branded it as a good omen, that the sons of York would have victory that day - and they did.
