MAJOR Channel Updates! Life decided to go full WOT over the past 3 months and as a result....
1. After 6 years in San Diego, the family and I sold our house and moved 7 hours north.
2. I hurt the 493 Stroker in my '69 Barracuda (bad). Windage trays are 100% needed for road racing (lesson learned).
3. Project War Wagon (1977 Dodge Ramcharger) went in for a fresh paint job!
4. King Hydra (1970 Superbird) is currently at a fabrication shop getting a killer cage installed (needed the build to progress while my shop is down)
5. A full garage/shop build series is in the works and will take place before resuming on the Superbird (for obvious reasons).
I've been collecting content on each of the projects but, have struggled to complete videos. I'll be posting a lot about each project however, timeliness may be slightly out of order. Apologies for the dry spell but, we're BACK, BABY!
Naturally, this happens when i'm 2400 miles away from home. Wouldnt be YouTube without a little drama... I guess 🫠. Gotta get this buttoned up before arriving in Bowling Green, KY TOMORROW for Moparty!
Arguably the most important event of the year... My daughter will forever be able to say that the Barracuda dropped her off on her first day of school EVER!
So thankful for everything I have in life. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you all for coming along the journey with me.
Driving north over 600 miles to bring this beast to Thunderhill this weekend!
As it stands, I'll be the only classic in a sea full of high dollar sports cars. Time to remind folks how capable old iron can be 💪
I've made quite a few adjustments since my last racing event in Las Vegas. Upgraded valve covers, Crankcase ventilation system, new throttle return setup, coilover adjustments, and some additional electrical grounds to improve charging. LETS DO THIS!
Turns out the gaskets were never the problem... Not sure if I did this or if they were like that when I bought them on craigslist. In any event, I've got a new set of fabricated aluminum covers that should work great.
Any recommendations on a set of big block valve covers that ACTUALLY seal against a pair of Eddie heads? My M/T are just not up to the task. Even with the good rubber Moroso gaskets.
I love posting these before & after shots. Nothing good ole fashion Pinesole and scotch brite pads couldnt handle. Soaked them for 24 hours and then spent a good 3 hours scrubbing. I think they came out great.
After identifying the issue with the Speedmaster roller rockers, I took them to a buddy who runs his own shop. To my surprise, he mentioned this was quite common. He's going to take some photos and measurements and report back to SM. Big thanks to ‪@JonnyMopar‬ for hooking me up with a set of original rocker arms. Project War Wagon is almost back on the street 🤙
I, personally, dont think it looks too bad for a flat tappet camshaft break-in. This is WITH the filter magnet on as well. No large pieces or chunks. Just fine dust. Rest of the oil looked fairly clean coming from the pan. No metal sludge found on the drain plug either.
