Fall to Earth invites you to get up close with this actual 4.5-billion-year-old space rock and uncover the science behind the mysterious boom heard across Southeast Texas.

 

Follow the meteorite’s incredible journey from space to Earth and discover how one remarkable moment brought the wonders of our solar system right to Houston’s doorstep.

With the heartbreak of losing the public-facing side if the Academy of Natural Sciences Museum in Philadelphia, let me quell any natural concerns for the Houston Museum of Natural Science...

We are in no danger...and that is 100% because of YOU ALL and the philanthropy of our generous donors. Our attendance is down only slightly with the natural ebb and flow of economic tides. We can't thank you enough for showing up and exploring with us.

We are 501(c)(3)...we don't take a dime from local or federal government towards the content or subject matter in our museums. We do not answer to the government, we answer TO YOU, the public who keeps our doors open...and y'all show up...which is beautiful and appreciated beyond measure.

We've got plans actively being worked on through the end of this decade and beyond...because of y'all.

So thank you...and fear not. We will grow together, take lumps together, learn together...your Houston Museum of Natural Science has been here for well over 100 years and looking forward to the centuries beyond...because of you.
