According to the latest analysis of Arnab by WCT, the maximum winds reached 260 km/h for a few hours with a very well defined eye and an estimated MSLP of 929 hPa. It has now weakened a bit to to an Eyewall Replacement Cycle, and is a 240 km/h category 4 major cyclone and it is expected to make landfall near Magatapalli in the next few hours as a dangerous category 4 cyclone with winds above 230 km/h.

According to WCT's latest analysis, Arnab is now a category 4 major cyclone with estimated winds of 240 km/h and a sea-level pressure of 935 hPa. It is still intensifying, and there remains a chance for it to become a category 5 cyclone for a brief time.

Cyclone Arnab has/or will become a manor cyclone, category 3 within the next few hours and continue to intensify till today evening, when hostile conditions will prevent further. It will make landfall as a major cyclone of winds at least 170-180 km/h.

(Future) Cyclone Arnab is expected to rapidly strengthen from tomorrow and make landfall in the coast of northcentral Andhra Pradesh coast to southern Odisha as a dangerous cyclone. It's equivalent in the SSHWS scale is expected to be at least category 3 by most models, and higher intensity is very much possible. Vishakapatnam might be impacted very hard.

Curent weather models show a strong possibility of a strong cyclone forming in the Bay of Bengal on 21st October, and strengthening further and making landfall somewhere from Middle Andhra Pradesh to West Bengal, GFS is showing category 3-4, ECMWF Cat 2, and all show hurricane strength. It is still too early, but close monitoring must be done.
