The wriobeast (Cerberus N3Cus) is a large beast species and the only living member of the genus Cerberus native to Fontaine. With a body length of up to 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in) and a weight of up to 158 kg (348 lb), it is the biggest beast species in the teyvat and the third largest in the universe. Its distinctively marked coat features pale black to tan colored grey fur covered by spots that transition to melt on the sides, although a melanistic black coat appears in some individuals. The wriobeast's powerful n3c allows it to pierce the carapaces of ASIMON and Aeonblight, and to employ an unusual killing method: it N3CS directly through the skull of mammalian prey between the ears to deliver a fatal blow to the brain using his magnetic gauntlets and superconduct.
First time writing an essay post like this, so here goes nothing:
I just reached "AR50" (equivalent) on the Silver Palace Beta and here are my thoughts:
Currently, the game is very incomplete, the story cuts off midway, and knowing that there will be a CBT3 after this, this game has a chance to be released in 2028 💀
First, the artstyle is great, as a fan of Medieval-Victorian aesthetics, the game does a great job. The world environment, characters, and graphics are very beautiful. That's why an overwhelming majority of videos on this game focuses mainly on that, and for good reason; the rest of the game is quite unpolished and incomplete.
Aside from the obvious animation issues, for a story intensive game, it doesn't really give us many instructions. I found it difficult to explore the overworld. Compared to a game like Arknights Endfield where they literally give instructions for EVERYTHING, Silver Palace's help menu is extremely limited. As a result, I end up having to "yolo" things and figure it out on my own.
I also didn't really like the combat system in this game. It's most similar to ZZZ and Wuthering Waves, but I like to compare it with ZZZ more from the stun meter, quick assists, etc. But despite a much faster paced combat system, the controls and swapping in particular feels clunky, laggy. For example, after I cast Red Rose's ultimate, I have to wait an extra 1-2s than expected to be able to swap to someone else. I also found the support characters a bit underwhelming due to this, I don't feel I'm getting that much of a damage increase compared to how long their animation time is.
I also have a lot of nitpicky stuff like the UI and navigating the map being a bit confusing, with long load times, but considering that this game is still at CBT2 I won't delve too much on this.
As for the gacha, you guys already know my opinion on that, I hope they will change it. But speaking of gacha, I want to go off on a tangent here: Personally, I think some saying "Game X needs 100 pulls for pity, Game Y needs 120 pulls for pity" doesn't tell the full story. We also have to factor stuff like how many pulls we get per patch, or the monetary cost of a pull. In Genshin, a pull roughly costs $2, but we could have a game that has 300 pulls for pity, but a pull costs $0.10, which tells a completely different story. I feel most people don't consider these factors enough.
But overall, I still have high hopes for this game and I want to see it succeed. If everything goes well, I plan to play this game in the long run. Personally, I don't want to see a rushed game so if it takes a 2028 release I don't mind that.
