The Parque Nacional Submarino La Caleta (English: La Caleta Underwater National Park) is a national park located approximately 20 kilometres (12 miles) from Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. It is adjacent to Las Americas International Airport.

Created by Decree No. 249 on September 25, 1986, La Caleta Underwater National Park is the first underwater park in the Dominican Republic and is considered by experts to be one of the five best diving locations in the Caribbean.

It has a maximum depth of 180 metres (590 ft). Many coral reefs can be found between 10 metres (33 ft) and 50 metres (160 ft). It is one of the most visited parks in the country and attracts divers from both the Dominican Republic and other countries.

It is classified as an ecotourism park, aimed at the assessment of existing natural resources, while encouraging participants to pursue conservation and respect for nature.

The main tourist attraction is the ship Hickory, which was removed in 1984 by Grayson Roach in order to form a habitat for reef fish and a diving destination. Inside the park there is an Ethnological and Archaeological Museum which has a large collection of objects created by the Taíno.

Roger’s Frigate has been a sweet staple in the community of Port Jefferson Village for 30 years. Starting out as a small ice cream and candy shop, over the years the store has quadrupled in size and now boasts over 3,000 square feet of delectable sweets, treats and confections! And while the store may have grown in size and variety, it still offers personal service and cheerful hospitality with a small town, local neighborhood feel.

Roger Rutherford is considered by many customers – as the “Face of the Frigate”. He has been with the Frigate for over 20 years and has established a cherished reputation and great rapport with both customers and employees alike. He is proud of the relationships that he has built with local customers and the family environment that exists within the Frigate. As a staple in the local community, he proudly boasts about kids who have worked at the Frigate in the past, returning years later as adults, bringing their own children in for an experience at the Frigate. Roger adds, “Many employees have worked at the Frigate for over ten years – so it really is like a family environment.”

When the store was renamed a few years ago, Roger went out to the community asking for suggestions for a new name. They all responded with the same answer – it should be “Roger’s Frigate” because Roger is as much of a fixture as the store is in Port Jefferson Village. And thus – the name was changed!

Welcoming local and new customers alike, Roger’s Frigate is a delectable destination in Port Jefferson village! No day in the village is complete without a stop into Roger’s Frigate for a sweet indulgence and a delightful experience.

What Is A Zombie Walk?
A Zombie Walk is an organized gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes and then converge quickly in a public area for surprise and fun. Walks usually in urban areas such as shopping malls or town squares. Participants arrive at a pre-determined time (often at a hidden location) and then emerge as a group to creep in a somewhat orderly fashion through shocked and amused crowds, towards a final destination (usually a cemetery, club, bar or after party).

During the Walk, all participants are encouraged to remain in character as zombies, lurching, shambling, dragging limbs and communicating only in a zombie-like manner (such as grunting, groaning, moaning and slurred calls for “brains”.) Zombie Walks are always free events. With the exception of Zombie Pub Crawls, most walks are
