First mixed media print using the Sizzix die cutting machine. It was a fun process and I love making larger work. I’ll post a short video tomorrow! 😍

Whoo hoo! My Sizzix embossing machine arrived today! This will replace my lovely pasta machine for printmaking. I can print 9” wide so bigger work and more experiments to come!
Thanks @sallyhirstcourses for the idea and tutorials. 😍

Creative block usually isn't a lack of ideas, it's decision fatigue and the pressure to make something amazing right away.
In my latest video, we're breaking through that freeze with a simple 10-minute rule:
Pick just 2 or 3 supplies.
Set a timer for 10 minutes.
Give yourself total permission to make something "terrible."
Once you take away the expectation of a masterpiece, the resistance disappears.

New video is up! I’m testing out a Gamsol solvent trick to liquefy oil pastels and see if we can get them to set quicker while building loose, energetic landscape layers on Arches Oil Paper.

I went out for a walk yesterday at the Baker Wetlands. Beautiful Kansas autumn day, blue skies and wispy clouds. Perfect. 😍
p.s. I will post a new video on Monday! Today seemed too rushed for me to work.

New video is up! Today we’re getting messy in the studio with an autumnal abstract landscape on Arches Oil Paper.
I’m experimenting with pan pastels, cold wax, stencils, and even a kitchen strainer to build up raw textures and layers. Grab a cup of coffee and come play in the studio with me!

Hey Artsy friends!
I made a video for this piece. Unfortunately, half the video was out of focus. I was using a new app and it did not have the option to lock focus. Ugh. I will create another one tomorrow and make a new piece! 😍
