VinFast India: Production Halt or Strategy Reset? ⚡🇮🇳
Reports of VinFast “pausing” India operations need some context.
According to Reuters, the company has temporarily halted certain localisation and supplier-development activities for the VF 3, VF 6 and VF 7, reportedly due to cost concerns.
However, NDTV Auto says VinFast has denied any production halt, with CKD assembly of the VF 6 and VF 7 continuing.
Meanwhile, Autocar India reports plans for India-specific EVs, higher localisation and Phase 2 expansion of its Tamil Nadu facility.
And Business Standard reports that VinFast is engaging with 300+ Indian suppliers to strengthen local sourcing.
So, this looks less like an India exit and more like a rethink of its localisation and cost strategy.
