AAAH! is out now. I know all the songs I’ve ever released come from my heart but this song is about overcoming a lot. I was an alcoholic, addict and severely mentally ill for a very long time. Many years. I genuinely did not believe I would survive and I was creating so much devastation around me and inside of me. I wrote this song with @kiahgossner who became friends with me during the time I was in the process of deciding I wanted to keep going and keep making music and keep living and keep loving my friends and learning new things and using my brain. He is a beautiful person and incredibly skilled and talented I’m lucky to have met him. This song is more than just saying ‘there’s hope’ I’m trying to tell you that we can create hope inside of us. It’s not an external power. It’s something people do in the ways we take care of ourselves and each other. I have so much to say on this and I’m not going to go on too much but I am so grateful that this song exists and that it’s free and that it’s yours now. I really sincerely hope it brings you something because it came from a place of love and acceptance of everything that hurts. It’s about finding catharsis where you can, finding your balance when it’s so easy to fall off. Whatever you’re going through, whoever you are, you can get through what’s happening.

The beautiful producers who worked on my record (Damian, Carter and Pip) emboldened me like armour as I wrote song after song about splitting over the last few years. This album is a letter, detailing the experience of being in The Place, to my future self. May it serve as a point of reference so that if I ever find myself there again, I will know what to do.
