September marks the 1 year anniversary of the creation of this channel. I started out with zero knowledge of video making or editing. It began as a music heavy quiz channel because I always liked watching those kind of videos in groups(because I would always win😆). After a few months of some pretty rough looking videos and editing I switched to only music related videos and narrowed my focus.

I don't know if it was luck or fate but posting a few Casey Kasem full countdowns really got my channel moving from <500 subscribers to where it is now. Although I can't post those videos anymore (IHeart pulls them down), I'll always be thankful that they helped me get a foothold on YT. I really never imagined this channel would reach anywhere near where it is now. My goal was just to get to 1000 subs.

Music has always been something I've loved. And with how divided the people of the country and world are, it's nice to have something that we can enjoy together no matter one's personal beliefs or background. This is why I kindly request keeping all politics (other than whatever certain songs state) out of the channel.

I think what really pushed me in to making the videos that I make, was driving too much and listening to FM radio hearing the same 50-100 songs almost on repeat. I grew up listening to the radio and there are SO MANY songs from a lot of genres that are nearly forgotten today. Both the good songs and the not so good songs shouldn't be swept away in to history.

I am so appreciative of every view and comment(99.9% of them at least). I have used many suggestions in comments to make videos so if there is something that you want to see and it fits with the channel there's a good chance I will make it. If you are still reading this here is what you can expect heading forward.

Video release schedule:

Mondays - 80s # peaks #1-#101 every week
Wednesday - Short Artist spotlights Top 10,20,25 songs by streams every week
Friday - Longer videos on anything from 60s-90s, pop, rock, country and recently added in some worldwide videos every week
*Coming soon probably every Sunday - 70s # peaks #1-#101 (starting end of this year hopefully)

Things you won't see:

-AI thumbnails - I use free background pictures that I search for and a text generator that I adjust all the settings for on every thumbnail.
-AI intro voiceovers - I used those when I was making shorts but haven't and won't on regular videos. I'd rather play a clip of a somewhat related song.
-Reaction videos - This channel isn't about my opinion, it's about remembering and enjoying(or hating lol) the music as a group.
-Begging for likes, subs, comments or whatever - When I started the channel I had one of those 'like/sub' overlays but it didn't last long. I find them unnecessary and if pushed too hard annoying and off putting. Anyone who has been watching YouTube for more than a week knows how it works with likes/subs/etc and you don't need me pounding you over the head with it. I'm so thankful for every view. If you want to like and comment cool, if not it's also cool. Oh yeah and advertising membership. If you want to throw a dollar or 2 a month to see videos first that's great, if not it's also great. Again I'm just thankful for any views.

Things I just remembered.
-NO clickbait titles. Every video is clearly stated what it is and what you can expect to see.
-NO thumbnails with me making a shocked/surprised/confused face, no thumbnails with me picture period. Again this channel is about the music, not me.

Thanks everyone for going on this journey with me. I'm not stopping anytime soon(I already have a schedule of videos to make through July 2027 and that's just the beginning).

Something a little different in this week's Friday video. I know as an American I had heard about 2/3 of these songs but it was interesting to see the where songs charted in the UK vs the US. If it's not your thing I totally get it. Just trying to make videos that haven't been done before on YT. Thanks everyone for watching!

Just a quick update. The video schedule will remain the same for the foreseeable future. Monday 80s peak #s, Wednesday artist spotlight top 10(or more), Friday everything else rotating(60s, 70s, 90, country, holiday specific, etc.). I'm already working on Christmas videos just to show how far ahead I like to work. 😆 Thanks to everyone for enjoying and remembering the music with me!

Been working so much on videos that I'm already putting together stuff for November and starting to assemble the Christmas lists. 3 videos a week (or more around holidays) will continue through the end of 2026. Maybe I'll take a day off then. 🤣 But seriously, I enjoy making them and I'm so thankful for every view!

To say I have been working overtime on making videos is an understatement. I have videos 3 times a week for the next 2 months already uploaded and ready. Also thank you to everyone who has subscribed and those who have stuck around even though I can't post Casey Kasem videos anymore. Since Casey is off the table, Rick Dees full countdown video will be premiered June 5th at 6pm. I'm hoping these don't get taken down. I'm also looking in to other countdowns that I might be able to have on the channel. Stay tuned in, this channel is just getting started!
