Playden 0.8.0 adds Steam Families to the library on jailbroken PS5 consoles.
The October 28 release also adds selectable download servers, offline cover caching and a fix for saved QR sign-ins expiring after roughly a day. Runtime kit 0.13 is unchanged. These are developer release notes, not my own test results.
This is still unofficial alpha software using Wine to run Windows games. It requires an already jailbroken PS5 and supporting payloads. The developer tests firmware 13.60; other firmware is untested, and support for every PS5 model is not established.
Online play remains unsupported in this release. Compatibility is game-specific. Playden accesses your real Steam account and writes Steam Cloud saves, so back up important saves and read the project's security notes before using it.
Which would you want tested first: shared-library visibility, download-server selection or a game-by-game compatibility check?

NVIDIA 621.12 is an optional hotfix for specific problems after 621.01.
NVIDIA lists a fix for video playback freezing or turning black on some GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and RTX Spark systems. It also addresses Unreal Engine 5.8 crashing when Ray Lighting Mode uses Hit Lighting.
Two narrower display fixes are included: corruption with an RTX Spark system using a StarTech Thunderbolt 3 to HDMI 2.0 adapter, and intermittent flickering on MSI N16 Flip.
Choose the correct package: GeForce uses the Windows 10/11 x64 download; RTX Spark has a separate Windows 11 ARM64 download.
This is optional beta software with shorter testing than a WHQL release. NVIDIA says waiting for the next WHQL driver is the safest option. It is a targeted bug-fix release, not a claimed FPS boost or a fix for every black-screen problem. I haven't tested it.

DLSS on my PlayStation 5? I put HelixSR to the test in CONTROL Resonant.
The full video compares stock FSR2 with the experimental DLSS Model E integration using matched 4K screenshot details and clearly labeled 1080p motion. The recorded flash and uneven pacing remain visible.

Which detail looks different to you? If you know a relevant Reddit community, feel free to share the test where its rules allow.

Playden 0.7.2 is out for jailbroken PS5 consoles, with a practical packaging change for ProsperoStore.
The October 26 release keeps the existing FAKE77031 app ID and cancels the move announced in 0.7.1. The ZIP now puts the app folder at its top level, and license files travel inside that folder. The release notes say the store listing comes next; this is not confirmation that it is already listed.
Runtime kit 0.13 is unchanged. This update does not announce new game compatibility or a performance boost.
Playden is an unofficial alpha launcher using Wine to run Windows games on PS5. It requires an existing jailbreak and supporting payloads. The developer tests firmware 13.60; other firmware is untested, not guaranteed compatible. It is not an official Valve or Sony release.
It uses real Steam accounts and can write Steam Cloud saves. Back up important saves and read the project's account-security notes first. I haven't tested this release.
Would a careful installation walkthrough or a game-by-game compatibility test be more useful?

RTX Remix has a substantial new release for classic-game modders. NVIDIA's October 23 package is tagged 1.6.1, with release notes titled RTX Remix 1.6.
It adds DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering with artistic controls, sparse rendering, and 5x/6x Multi Frame Generation choices on supported hardware. A Fabric integration for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1 is available as a beta.
There is also a Windows on Arm runtime with public ARM64/ARM64EC builds. NVIDIA names Portal RTX, Half-Life 2 RTX Demo and the Minecraft beta for day-one support. That is a specific Windows compatibility list, not a promise for every Arm handheld or Android device. The minimum NVIDIA driver is now 616.92.
Remix still needs an appropriate game/mod setup and feature-compatible hardware. Installing it is not a universal DLSS switch. I haven't tested this release, measured its performance or verified any particular mod's visual quality.
Which would make a better practical test: a classic PC remaster or the Minecraft Java beta?

SteamOS 3.9.5 has reached the stable channel. Valve's October 23 release brings a newer desktop and several practical handheld fixes.
The notes list Plasma 6.7.3, a Linux 7.2 base, faster Wi-Fi reconnection after sleep, and fixes for the VRR frame-limiter toggle and frame limits on certain external displays. Valve also lists a Forza Horizon 6 launch-crash fix and preliminary brightness controls for Legion Go 2.
One detail matters for Deck owners: hibernation support is preliminary, has no Game Mode interface yet, and remains disabled on Steam Deck because of a driver bug. This update does not give the Deck a finished hibernate feature.
These are Valve's release notes, not results from my own testing. I haven't measured battery life, frame pacing or compatibility on this build. Which would you want checked first: docked VRR, Wi-Fi after sleep, or your Decky plugins?

The original Forza Horizon's community PC rebuild has a useful update: ReImagined 0.1.34 adds launcher-managed mods and Vulkan texture packs.
Mods can be enabled, reordered and checked for file conflicts. The release also adds a 540p 3D scene option while keeping the HUD and menus at 720p, changes first-play shader building, and fixes the picture staying frozen after minimizing the game.
There is an important handheld limit: the developer explicitly says 540p does not help CPU-limited devices such as Steam Deck. This is not proof of a new smooth Deck experience, and I haven't benchmarked this version. Existing README Deck figures refer to earlier builds.
ReImagined is an unofficial native Windows/Linux rebuild of the Xbox 360 game through static recompilation. SteamOS has a Flatpak option. It builds from your own game copy; the project does not supply the game. It is not an official Microsoft PC release or an Xbox console jailbreak.
Would you try mods and texture packs first, or compare the new shader behavior on the same route?

PS5 firmware 14.00 and 14.10 have a new exploit announcement to watch: Prolapse.
Jose Coixao (@notnotzecoxao) said on October 24 that it is coming to those versions, and clarified that it is a new exploit rather than a renamed Relapse. This is an announcement. No public Prolapse download or finished installation method has been verified at this review.
Kernel access is one part of an exploit chain. It does not by itself prove a complete jailbreak, game compatibility or identical access on every model and firmware. Coixao separately says the hypervisor is still unpatched on 14.00; don't assume the same capability on 14.10. Model-specific support and a release date are not confirmed in the announcement.
If you're preserving a homebrew setup, wait for the actual release and its requirements before changing firmware. I haven't tested Prolapse, and this post is not a setup guide.
What would help most when a release arrives: a firmware compatibility breakdown or a careful homebrew demonstration?

Switch 2 homebrew has a useful new step: HBLauncher 0.2.0 and ftpd-sb 0.1.0 were released on October 23.
The launcher runs apps as GPU shader programs through SmileBASIC. The separate FTP app can read and write SmileBASIC save and temporary files, and read its bundled romfs. It cannot access the SD card or other games' saves.
The supported setup is Switch 2 firmware 23.0.1, SmileBASIC 4.4.9, a Linux x86-64 PC and a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W. The PC hosts the app library and must stay running. Other firmware or SmileBASIC versions are unsupported.
This is an early GPU app environment, not custom firmware, an NRO loader or native ARM64 app loading. The maintainer reports console and FileZilla tests; I haven't tested these releases myself. FTP writes affect real SmileBASIC files, so back up important data and use only a trusted local network.
If you are preserving this setup, keep the console off the internet to avoid updates; the local network is still needed. Current SmileBASIC purchase availability is unverified, so don't reconnect or update just to buy it.
What would you want to see first: a simple GPU demo or a careful file-transfer walkthrough?

SteamVR 2.18 is now stable, and Quest users get a new wired option through Steam Link.
Valve's October 21 release adds USB tethered streaming for Quest, with the latest Steam Link app on the headset required. The feature appeared in an earlier beta; the news here is its move to the stable release.
Valve also lists streaming reliability and color fixes, plus Linux fixes for AMD reprojection, GPU selection and OpenXR startup. Those are release-note claims, not results I've reproduced on my hardware.
This remains streaming over USB. A cable alone does not guarantee lower latency, lossless video or compatibility with every PCVR game. Don't assume this replaces every Meta PC software workflow. I haven't tested the wired connection yet.
Would a practical USB versus Wi-Fi setup and image-quality comparison be useful?
