Most critical security bugs, in browsers, cars, industrial systems, come down to the same thing: a program reaching into memory it was never supposed to touch.
CHERI is a hardware idea that makes that mistake physically impossible. Instead of trusting software to behave, the processor itself checks every memory access and refuses anything out of bounds, before the damage happens.
We didn't just write about it. We built the whole toolchain from source, attacked it for real, and watched the hardware block every attempt, live in a debugger.
