Plitvice Lakes & Rastoke [Part 2/6]: The Waterfall Chapter ππ·
Part 2 of our Croatia itinerary. After Istria, we headed inland to the waterfalls, and this chapter might be the most photogenic yet.
We stayed at Camping Korana and took the shuttle straight to Plitvice Lakes, 10 minutes away for 4 β¬ round trip. We walked Route C, 8 km through the Lower and Upper Lakes. It took us 4 to 5 hours. Ticket was 40 β¬ per person, with the boat ride and the bus back included. Want to walk the whole park instead? Budget 6 to 7 hours for about 17 km, no boat or bus. Just remember, no swimming and no drones anywhere in the park.
25 minutes away, Rastoke is a village built right on top of waterfalls, past watermills that have stood since the 1600s. If you're visiting Plitvice, don't skip this one.
Save this for your Croatia trip and follow along for Part 3. Which one would you visit first, the lakes or the waterfall village?

Istria Itinerary [Part 1/6]: 4 Stops, Activities & Prices ππ·
Our Croatia trip is over, so now we're sharing it stop by stop. We started in the north, in Istria, with a rooftop tent on the car and campsites only, and worked our way down the coast to Dubrovnik.
Istria was our first taste of Croatia and it stayed with us: truffle pasta at sunset in Motovun, SUP time at the beach next to our campsite in Rovinj, the Roman Arena in Pula and a first look at Kamenjak, a park we are also saving for next time.
What it cost us:
π Camping at Porton Nature Hideouts, Rovinj: 149β¬/3 night
π Bus Rovinj to Pula: 11.10 β¬ there (in the bus), 8.50 β¬ back (ticket machine)
π Kamenjak NP: 20 β¬ by car, free by bike or on foot
Every stop was within about an hour of Rovinj.
Save this for your own Croatia trip and follow along for the next parts of the itinerary.
Which stop would you add first?
