Tokyo after dark A cat, a drink, and old bones Vinyl softly spins --- Tonight, we are joined by the Cat and Mr. Bones.Ā New Halloween lo-fi playlist, out now: https://youtu.be/AVPTkZz0glY
As you probably have noticed, this channel has seem to lost its spirit over the past year. Iāve tried different kinds of aesthetics and art styles in the pursuit of ākeeping things freshā and āmaking the channel dynamicā, but throughout the numerous rebrands and changes, nothing has really felt as much like the afterhours then the initial set of lo-fi mixes that this channel started with. So Iāve taken a look back to what really gave the afterhours its charm, and Iāve asked myself what really makes something āfeelā like the afterhours.
As such, I want to treat this as a return to form. Starting today, the music, the visuals, and the overall direction of our little channel will recall that initial energy while simultaneously trying to still evolve and push that feeling further. The coziness, the soft nostalgia, the rough textures, the hints of Japanese identity. All those will be making a comeback in some way, shape or form, and though it might take me a few videos to fully get it right, I trust that we will find our way home once again.
So for the first time in a long time, welcome once again, to the afterhours.
