PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Mexico is scrambling to contain a record surge of foul-smelling sargassum along its Caribbean coast, as the brown seaweed swamps beaches in the heart of ​the country's tourism belt.
Officials in Quintana Roo, home to resort destinations including Cancun, ‌Playa del Carmen and Tulum, have cleared more than 105,000 metric tons of sargassum so far this year, according to data released this week, a figure that already exceeds last year's record 92,783 tons.

Chalkydri are mythical angelic creatures mentioned in the apocryphal Second Book of Enoch. They are either classified as a sub-species of Seraphim or divine dragons and even regarded as the underlings of Uriel.

Appearance
Their appearance is mesmerizing, as they arise as creatures with the colors of the rainbow bearing the head of a crocodile and the feet and tail like that of a lion, each having twelve wings.

Overview
It is said in the Second Book of Enoch that the chalkydri dwell near the Sun alongside other flying elements referred to as phoenixes. At the rising of the Sun, all the chalkydri break into song with their counterparts, alerting the birds of the world for a new day to rejoice. The chalkydri are also said to govern the space that is occupied by Sanna after her resurrection acting as her guardians.
Sanna was an ancient primordial entity that was stationed to watch over the Tree of Life alongside the Sentinels of Creatio. However, after the War in Heaven, the former Sentinel known as Khahrahk, now known as the Scarlet King, forcibly took Sanna and was subjugated by him.

The Sentinels of Creatio, also known as the Light Sentinels, Disciples of the Light, Great Guardians, and the Sentinels of Creation, are seven ancient and primordial entities that were created by Asherah, the wife and consort of God and the embodiment of the Tree of Life. They were created to tend to the gardens around Asherah and the Tree of Life as well as guard them from any potential threats.



Despite the defeat and imprisonment of the Old Ones, Asherah was convinced that the threat of these Eldritch abominations would loom over them in the foreseeable future. As a result, she created seven individual primordial entities whom were named the Sentinels of Creatio or the Light Sentinels. They were then given seven spears which were said to be more than capable of killing an Old One even one as powerful as Nyarlathotep himself. As eons pass, the Sentinels would tend to Asherah's gardens and the Tree while also protecting her. They were regarded as gardening aids for Asherah, helping Her cultivate all of creation.

Birth of the Scarlet King

It was not until the war in Heaven commenced that things took a more drastic and horrifying turn. Lucifer's war against God shifted the very nature and function of existence and this, unbeknownst to most, affected the youngest and the most fragile of the Sentinels known as Khahrahk. Khahrahk became aware of existence and it was so overwhelming for him it brought him great anguish which soon resulted in madness. Khahrahk soon snapped and declared that existence was so painful that it needed to be destroyed and his first action of rebellion against all that exists is him killing his siblings and devouring their essence which in turn empowered him. Khahrahk forsook his name and proclaimed himself as the dreaded Scarlet King who targeted the Tree of Life to end all of creation.

However, his plans were thwarted by the Seven Archangels, whom managed to wield the Seven Spears of the fallen Sentinels that contained a sliver of their essence that was saved by Asherah, and defeated him as he was weakened by Michael's relentless attacks with his own powerful Lance. Eventually, through the power of the Spears, seven nigh-unbreakable chains were crafted to imprison the Scarlet King with the chains themselves being tied to the life-forces of his own seven powerfully strong children. Should his children perish in any conflict they find themselves in, it would result in the chains snapping and freeing the Scarlet King.

Anishinaabe Nation Prophecy:

The Seventh Prophet that came to our people so long ago was said to be different from the other prophets. This prophet was described as “young and had a strange light in his eyes” and he said:

In the time of the Seventh Fire New People will emerge. They will retrace their steps to find what was left by the trail. Their steps will take them to the Elders who they will ask to guide them on their journey. But many of the Elders will have fallen asleep. They will awaken to this new time with nothing to offer. Some of the Elders will be silent because no one will ask anything of them. The New People will have to be careful in how they approach the Elders.

If the New People will remain strong in their quest to extract knowledge from the elders, the Water Drum of the Midewiwin Lodge will again beat from the Ancestors spirits. There will be a rebirth of the First Nations and a rekindling of old flames that will start to rage in all peoples hearts. The Sacred Fire of the Ancestors will again be lit.

It is this time that the light skinned race will be given a choice between two roads. One road will be green and lush, and very inviting. The other road will be black and charred, and walking it will cut their feet. In the prophecy, the people decide to take neither road, but instead to turn back, to remember and reclaim the wisdom of those who came before them. If they choose the right road, then the Seventh Fire will light the Eighth and final Fire, an eternal fire of peace, love brotherhood and sisterhood. If the light skinned race makes the wrong choice of the roads, then the destruction which they brought with them in coming to this country will come back at them and cause much suffering and death to all the Earth’s life. 🙏🔥🙏

Across the Pacific Coast, gray whales are washing ashore in numbers high enough to alarm researchers, stranding responders, and marine conservation groups. According to KTOO citing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), 145 Pacific gray whales had been found dead on beaches so far in 2026 as of early July, including 13 in Alaska. In 2025, 179 gray whales were found stranded, including 30 in Alaska.
That number does not capture every whale that dies. It only counts the animals that are found.
Many whales sink offshore, drift unseen, or decompose far from any beach where a member of the public or a stranding team can report them. That is one reason the visible carcasses matter so much: they are the part of a much larger ocean story that reaches land.
In Oregon, the numbers are smaller than in places like Washington, Alaska, or California’s Bay Area, but the concern is real. By late April, at least three gray whales had been found on Oregon beaches in 2026, according to Axios Portland reporting. One of those was a 40-foot male gray whale found on the south end of Seaside Beach on April 14. A necropsy later showed the whale was emaciated, suggesting it may have been starving.
