Women farmers of Birsha Munda and Matrushakti Producer Groups at Bahuband GP, Udala Block, Mayurbhanj, are transforming collective farming into sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through collective harvesting and marketing, 10 households earned ₹11,760 from 280 kg of grafted brinjal, while 4 households earned ₹12,250 from 350 kg of ridge gourd.
The initiative showcases the strength of women-led collectives in enhancing incomes, strengthening market linkages and fostering economic self-reliance at the grassroots.

A proud moment for Odisha as Odisha Livelihoods Mission, Department of Mission Shakti, receives the ISSCA Global Award 2026 – Transformative Excellence for “Women-Led Sustainable Farming for Nutrition and Rural Resilience.”
Conferred on 12 September 2026 in New Delhi, the award recognises Odisha’s transformative women-led efforts in advancing sustainable agriculture, nutrition and resilient rural livelihoods.
A high-level review meeting on the upcoming Specialty Rice & Millet Factory was held under the Chairpersonship of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida.
The initiative aims to promote value addition in specialty rice and millets, strengthen women-led enterprises and enhance market linkages, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for more Lakhpati Didis across Odisha.
Strengthening Women-Led Agriculture through High-Value Cultivation! 🌱
20 women farmers of the Laumunda Integrated Farming Cluster, Bijepur, Bargarh, are successfully adopting grafted brinjal cultivation with improved agricultural practices, generating ₹10.44 lakh in income within two months.
The initiative demonstrates the potential of technology-led, high-value agriculture to enhance farm incomes, strengthen women-led livelihoods and create sustainable economic opportunities for rural women.
A new Subhadra Shakti Cafe managed by Bimala SHG was inaugurated at the Collectorate, Jharsuguda, by the Collector & District Magistrate, Jharsuguda.
Serving hygienic, nutritious and affordable food, the initiative opens a new avenue for SHG women to transform their skills into a thriving enterprise and greater economic opportunities.
A Block-Level VPRP Training is being conducted at Mission Shakti Bhawan, Jhumpura, Kendujhar, from 31 August to 9 September 2026.
With 198 CRPs participating across 5 batches, the training is strengthening capacities for participatory village planning, enabling women to identify local priorities and contribute meaningfully to inclusive grassroots development.
