One thing about me is that my book interests were heavily influenced by the 2010s dystopian era. 🖤📖

I'm talking about choosing factions, deadly trials, and overthrowing corrupt governments.

And of course risking everything for the one person you love...

Which would lead to bookish hangovers on a regular basis because I stayed up until 3 AM just to find out they brain-jacked the love interest...

And I never got over it. IYKYK 😫

Because I love those books, but I also love fantasy... I wrote my own dystopian fantasy series with all the flavors of the dystopian era but with cool DNA-CODED elemental powers. 😁

So if you are a reader who wants those kind of high-stakes vibes, but want the flavor of fantasy with no-spice slow burn romances, you're going to like it here.

Imagine a ruthless training arena where the trials are tailored to hunt down your exact psychological nightmares. That's what Clarissa is up against as an untrained fire wielder in a hostile capital.

If you love the tension of The Hunger Games and Divergent, this action-packed dystipian fantasy will leave you breathless... and without the explicit content.

Consider this your official warning about my dystopian fantasy books.

Give me all the high stakes broken kingdoms, reluctant heroes forced to rebel, the hidden DNA-coded powers, environmental dangers, and zero spice.

Right now, I am sitting down to write a teen heroine who wakes up in a stasis chamber inside a labor camp. Whether that stays in the final story... you'll have to wait to read this dystopian fairytale retelling when I'm done. 😉

In the meantime, you can click the link in my bio to shop my other books while I write this one.

👉Which do you prefer to read about more: the stakes in the rebellion, or the slow-burn romance? Or are you like me and need both?

GALACTIC POLITICS. CORRUPTION. SECRETS. Are you intrigued? Click the link in my bio to download my free prequel novella, Ruined Ashes, or comment SPARK below to grab the link!

Clarissa thought escaping her abusive caretaker would mean freedom, but the royal palace and the army are just a shinier version of a criminal ring. Surrounded by mysterious strangers and running low on trust, she has to navigate a deadly training ground to survive. If you miss the Divergent and Red Queen eras, this series is for you.

It stays completely clean:
No-Spice
No-Gore
No-Profanity

Consider this my official confession that writing my dystopian fantasy books and destroying my characters' lives is my thearpy.

Today I spent my writing session forging the relationship between a girl afraid of her powers. She's always wanted to belong, but has always felt out of place. He's afraid that he might not be strong enough to protect her.

It's a rewrite of my post-apocalyptic fantasy, Altered Rain. Honestly, despite the character perils, I regret nothing.

Losing sleep over a dystopian fantasy book is my entire personality. It’s 3:00 AM, and the reluctant hero just discovered hidden powers.

Who else lies to themselves every night about 'one more chapter'?

Consider my cup completely filled. I literally wrote what I love.

I missed the survival vibes of the dystopian era but I love fairytale retellings. So I got to fullfil my dreams and write my no-spice dystopian fantasy books. And I have you to thank for it. 🥰

Right now my new and improved prequel villain origin story to The Ember Crown series, Ruined Ashes, is with my proofreader. 😱 I've added and expanded so many chapters that I'm sure even if you read the old version of the story... this is going to feel a bit different.

One of my favorite additions to this edition is a seen where the fire wielders are vulnerable because they face their biggest weakness... water. If their skin gets wet... they can't access the power within. But there's a work around... which I'll let you read for yourself this September 2026.

Share this to your stories if you still miss the 2010s dystopian era too!

DYSTOPIAN FANTASY. CHOSEN ONE. RELUCTANT HEROINE.

Are you intrigued? Click the link in my bio to download my free prequel novella, Ruined Ashes, or comment SPARK below and I will instantly DM you the link!

I love a good morally gray rebellion, but my main characters are fiercely good people trying to survive a corrupt system. Clarissa grew up forced into crime, but she holds onto her heart and her morals even when she's thrown into a brutal training arena.
There will be no-spice, no-gore, and No-Profanity

Nothing better than discovering a no-spice fantasy author.

When I sit down to write, I intentionally leave out graphic gore, spice, and profanity. I want to give you the intense, fast-paced action of a rebellion like in the Hunger Games without the gorey details while ensuring the romance focuses on slow burn tension and stays out of the bedroom.

But I'm also not a fan of the love triangle... or toxic relationships. While my characters may have intense reactions under duress, they will always treat each other with respect... except for the villains, of course. 😉

Whether you’re looking to avoid certain themes or just want a dystopian fantasy series that focuses on the story, be sure to save this for when you need to add a no-spice read to your TBR.
