Despite making TF2 videos for nearly 10 years now I haven't actually played TF2 on the regular in like 15 years. I first played it when I was 14. Now I'm 31. Where the hell does the time go? But for the first time in forever I've been thinking about playing it again. I dunno why, maybe it's nostalgia calling me. But it's just my luck that when I have a desire to play it my mouse decides to act up. I've ordered a new one, but we'll have to see if my desire to play it again remains when the new one arrives!
Anyway, here's a screenshot that you might find interesting. Firstly, for some reason I have a picture of Karl Pilkington on my Conscientious Objector. I love that bald Manc tosser! Secondly, I have a Frontline Field Recorder and a Director's Vision, which I obtained legit back in the day. That's right, this isn't my first YouTube account! I'd estimate it typically takes a month or two for one of my TF2 videos to crack one thousand views. For some reason 'Pretzel Fortress' has already reached 1.5k in like two days. For the record both the previous two TF2 videos are a little under 1k each.
Why's it doing so well? Well, I'd imagine it's the longer than average length of it. From what I've heard YouTube tends to favour longer content. In fact that might be why Food Fortress still gets on average around 100 views a day, since it's a little over an hour long. Also all three Anthology of Fortresses did far better than average, although the third suffered due to being age restricted.
It'd be easy and cynical of me to start cranking out longer videos for more views and attention, but I don't play that game. I make what I want to make, and that's the end of it really. If I cared about views I would have abandoned this channel like nine years ago lol
I think I've said this before, but this channel to me is a hobby, a hobby that I make a bit of money from sure, but a hobby nevertheless. The fact that I get to entertain not just myself but other people too is pretty dang nice. I'm glad there's people that like my dumb bullshit.

Remember a couple of days ago when I said this?:
"What was meant to be a regular video ended up turning into a three parter. Now the plan was to upload it over the course of next month or two, but I have a deal for you lovely folks: if a single person sends me a donation on my Ko-Fi page I'll upload all parts over the course of three days, that being October the 1st, 2nd and 3rd."
Well guess what? A very lovely person donated! In fact, this is the second time they've donated! So please can we all give a big thank you to Boone, who very generously sent on over £30. You'll be getting an extra shout out in the video, to help cement you as the absolute busta you are.
As stated above the plan was to upload each part over the course of three days. But as an extra thank you, I'm gonna instead stitch each part into one video, plus add some extra content too. Why delay the fun?

Now the plan was to upload it over the course of next month or two, but I have a deal for you lovely folks: if a single person sends me a donation on my Ko-Fi page I'll upload all parts over the course of three days, that being October the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If nobody donates then no worries, they'll still be uploaded during October and November regardless, so you wont be missing out at all. I'm just curious if there's anyone out there who'd actually donate. People have in the past, so I know it's not a complete impossibility lol
