Disappointing Experience with Delhi Metro’s Multi-Journey QR Code

A few days ago, I lost my metro card and decided to try the multi-journey QR code system. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete disaster.

The first time I used it, everything seemed fine. However, on my second attempt, I was shocked to find that all my money was deducted, and my account showed a negative balance. I couldn’t believe it—how does one spend ₹500 in just 4 hours on metro journeys?

When I contacted the customer care number listed on the app, they informed me that it was a DMRC issue and asked me to send an email. Thankfully, my money was refunded, but now the system won’t let me enter any metro station, citing an error.

I visited the customer care desk at the metro station, where I was told the app wasn’t updated and only those with the latest update could use the QR code facility. But when I checked Google Play Store, there was no update available! Upon revisiting the desk, I was given the bizarre explanation that updates are rolled out to some users at a time. What kind of logic is this?

To make matters worse, I had to purchase tickets again for two separate journeys since I still can’t use the refunded amount. This entire experience has been so frustrating that I’m now switching back to the traditional smart card.

Why introduce a service if it’s not ready to handle real-world use? It’s inconvenient and poorly managed. I’m now standing in queues daily, just to access my own money. Please fix these issues and streamline the system—it’s causing unnecessary hassle for commuters.

The Discover page was flooded with inappropriate content, including nudity and suggestive posts—things no underage person should be exposed to. Despite my efforts to filter this, app’s algorithm failed.

Australia’s bold decision to ban social media for minors under 16 is a necessary step that the world should follow. If not a complete ban, social media platforms must at least refine their algorithms and content policies to ensure young users are not exposed to such material. What children see online often shapes their beliefs and behaviors, creating false narratives that can harm their development.
