Now that Momma has left them, they're really no longer babies in SB4. They are young-adult or juvenile orphans, and I can tell they are very stressed without their mother around to help them in the countless ways she did so for months. What used to be cute little struggles for almonds or peanuts between milk-fed siblings have become the serious, angry battles of hungry, near-adult competitors. Hopefully, without getting too dramatic here - because this is an exciting stage of development and exploration for Peach and her brother and sister, with many opportunities to thrive and succeed for them, to be sure - I just want to appeal to subs to tune into the streams when convenient and keep an eye on these little guys. I can only do so much, because I've got my busy daily routine just like all of you, so any updates you can alert me to would be greatly appreciated. What I had hoped would be a fun and funny Halloween week sure ended on a somber note. Sheesh. But all is not lost! And things may not be as dire as they seem! Let's all combine forces, help these little guys and cross our fingers that they take over and rule my backyard, like the fearless little stinkers that they are! At about 3:45pm this afternoon, while SB4 was empty, at least 2 squirrels - one looking small and juvenile - checked out SB2. And, now, Momma is gone from SB4, while the 3 babies are in there sleeping. They are over 3 months old at this point, so I'm thinking, whether we like it or not, Momma has decided it's time for them to fend for themselves. She must have left for one of her older dreys. I don't think anything bad has happened to her. I just think she chose to leave. Let's say goodbye to Momma, wish her luck, and hope we see her again! Also, I will do my best to leave food for the 3 babies outside SB4 and keep the mean adults and predators away from them. Thanks for watching, everyone! It's odd to say it, but I'm sorry for the, uh, spooky drama on Halloween!

It has bugged me since I started streaming that there are 4 camera feeds in my stream and no way to tell which is producing the audio viewers hear. So now...(drum roll, pls!)...we have little colored audio bars in the upper right of each camera feed indicating where the "noise" is coming from! Pheeeeyew! It took me all day to hammer the code out, but - with a couple bugs still left to correct - it is mostly working! Hope this makes the streams more coherent and enjoyable.

I know I'm always way too paranoid about the squirrels leaving my boxes for natural dreys, and my channel left with a serious squirrel drought, but I swear Momma in SB4 was particularly absent from the nest today. Maybe I'm imagining things, but I wonder if she's contemplating a departure. If so, obviously, the young'uns would go with her. Maybe she's considering a move back into SB2. That'd be interesting. I fretted over SB3 Boy evacuating only to see him come back pretty much every evening after he was gone for a couple days, so probably I'm just overthinking things. Anyway, thanks for tuning in and enjoy the overnight stream!
