Welcome to KD’s Retro Lab!
A treasure trove of revived tech from the golden era of analog video. From breathing life into a 1985 Panasonic A1 studio camera using a £10 video sender, to clean RF-to-SCART signals that still shine today—this is forgotten tech, reborn.
We celebrate a time when cameras had no internal recording—just pure AV output—and pairing them with DIY gear brought them back to life. No Arduino. No Pi. Just ingenuity and old-school charm.

A question for everyone who follows my channel!
I've been putting together videos covering St Helens memories, old college days, local history, humour and some fascinating personal stories.
I'm also working on new material, including the story of Stan Pennington.
But I'd really like to hear from YOU.
What would you most like to see more of?
📽️ Old St Helens photographs and memories
🎓 St Helens College of Technology and the 1980s
🎤 Real people's stories and forgotten characters
😂 Jokes, humour and entertaining stories
And here's a question: Is there someone, somewhere or something from years ago that you remember particularly well?
Tell me in the comments. Your memories might inspire one of my next videos!

I’ve been uploading some test videos recently, and I’d really value your honest feedback! 🎥
If any of my videos catch your eye, I’d love to know:
What works?
What needs improving?
What kind of content would you like to see next?
I’ll be posting some more carefully edited videos soon, but your input will help me shape them better. If you have any ideas or suggestions, I challenge you to leave me a comment – I’d love to hear your thoughts! 💬
