The Amazing Diplomat Hotel
The Diplomat Hotel is probably one of the most famous and most visited places in Baguio City. This building was built in 1913 to serve as a retreat house for the friars of the Dominican Order, however, when the second world war broke out, it served as a refuge for the war victims. Unfortunately, it was also conquered by the Japanese and since then it has served as a witness to their inhumane torture and killing of their captives . This is probably the reason why it is believed that this place is infested with restless souls who are still asking for justice.
This place has been the subject of various shows and writings, making it even more popular among Filipinos and foreigners in the Philippines.
It was only recently that we had the opportunity to see this historic building again, and as before, there is still this eerie feeling as you walk around the area, but on the other hand, you will also be drawn to the beauty of its structure. Unfortunately, people can no longer enter the building because some parts of it are no longer safe and may cause an accident. Even so, it is still interesting to walk around it because of its extraordinary beauty. Here are some of the photos we took around the building.
