Was going through some old folders the other day and found these little moments from the recording of Bariya. I had almost forgotten that I had these videos.
Not many clips, honestly. Maybe because I was so immersed in the process and living those moments that recording them never really crossed my mind.
Travelling to Jiaganj and spending those days with Arijit da while working on this song will always remain one of the most cherished experiences of my life. There was music, endless conversations, jamming sessions, and also moments of simply doing nothing—just sitting, listening, laughing, and soaking it all in.
For someone like me, getting to witness an artist of his stature from so close, and learning not just about music but also about life, humility, and sincerity, was truly special.
And then there were Amitabh da’s words—beautiful, honest, and full of heart. I’ve always admired how effortlessly he turns emotions into songs that stay with people for years. Having Bariya carry his lyrics made this journey even more special for me.
Some songs become special because of how they sound. Some become special because of the memories attached to them.
Bariya will always be both for me.
