Video Game Collecting Videos by Travis

šŸ‘‹ Hey everyone! I know it’s been a LONG time since I’ve given you guys an update. I was going to do an ā€œUpdate Videoā€ but I think it’s better if I save it until January 2027. I’ll try to keep it short and sweet here for the sake of time, so let’s begin:

Some of you might have noticed but I’ve sectioned off my content into multiple channels now instead of dropping everything on ā€œtvsonicgaming.ā€ The channels go as follows:

šŸŽ® tvsonicgaming (this channel, Game Collecting)
šŸ†•šŸ•¹ļø ‪@travisvuong56‬ (Game Reviews/Retrospectives)
šŸ†•šŸŽ™ļø ‪@travisdamianpodcast‬ (Podcast)
šŸ“š ‪@travistalkscomics‬ (Comic Books)

It’s a change I’ve been hesitant to do for awhile but after seeing a tweet from a content creator I admire, I decided to pivot. I shouldn’t be afraid to try out new things, especially when I’m relatively small in the creator space.

I’ve been trying to gain a new audience who will watch my reviews but I don’t necessarily think it’s working. Starting a new channel does mean I have to start from zero but at least I can gain an audience who are there just for the reviews.

The videos will also be different. Longer runtimes and multiple games talked about in a single video as opposed to a single, standard game review. It’s the game of YouTube in 2026 where talking about a single game for 10-15 minutes won’t cut it.

I’m also working directly with my brother on the thumbnails, to help package my videos better. It’s a process I’m willing to work through and I hope you guys join me in this ā€œNew Eraā€ for my content creation journey. I’ve been doing this since 2008, 2012 on this channel, and 2023 since I graduated college and started treating the channel like a part-time job.

The podcast has simply moved over to my old Let’s Play channel (tvsonicplays) and we’re keeping it mostly the same. Moving stuff around channels includes long-form & short-form videos.

That’s all I want to say today, I have a lot of videos cooking in the oven between all the channels right now. I appreciate you guys sticking around, whether you’re new from my recent Wolverine Bike clip or have been around since my Sonic stop-motion ā€œtv035653ā€ days. Thanks for reading and I’ll talk to y’all very soon ā™„ļø

There always comes a time where change needs to happen. Today, I'm making a big change to my YouTube uploads that I'm both scared and excited to do.

I have launched a new YouTube channel (‪@travisvuong56‬) that will be dedicated to my long-form reviews and retrospectives. My video on X-Men: Origins vs. Wolverine PS5 is up now, so check out the video and let me know what you think! <3

ā™„ļø I just want to say a thank you and welcome to all the new subscribers I received since I uploaded my YouTube Short on the Wolverine PS5 Motorcycle. Never in a million (no pun intended) years did I expect to ever have a video hit that high of a view count but here we are.

If you’re interested in my thoughts on the game, a full review is coming soon to this channel and a BRAND NEW channel I’m starting up, focusing solely on long-form reviews/retrospectives.Ā

šŸ†• CHANNEL: youtube.com/@travisvuong56/featured

Everything is still a work in progress as I plan to get everything rolling in the next two weeks at most. A full breakdown will happen in a future post & update video. Thank you for stopping by and showing your support, I’ll talk to y’all very soon šŸ™

šŸ‘‹ Hey! Welcome back to another Monthly Text Post!

Last month and this week has been a bit of a rollercoaster for me. I took a vacation to visit my best friend and co-host of the podcast, Damian. A splendid time visiting him and his family. Florida is hot af šŸ˜‚

I just started another part-time job while maintaining my current job. I am still very passionate about writing and talking about the games industry. I need another week or so to adjust to my new life changes but rest assured, my commitment to the channel and creating content is very much present šŸŽ¬

July did not see much video wise. I did conclude my Batman Arkham Marathon with LEGO Batman which is a video I’m pretty happy with. My chaotic schedule did result in the video falling on a Sunday instead of a Saturday but once I get situated with everything, I’ll find my groove again 🫔

As for the future, I’m definitely going to stay consistent on my comic book channel, Travis Talks Comic Books. I’ve been making more shorts related to comic books and uploading them on that YouTube channel. TikTok/Instagram is still all under the ā€œtvsonicgamingā€ banner and they’ve been doing pretty well. Comic books are my current obsession and I want to continue sharing that passion over there šŸ“š

For tvsonicgaming, I’m sorting out my next review schedule. I was thinking Splatoon Raiders > Wolverine > Resident Evil: Code Veronica > Sonic 2006. I know there’s other releases I missed out on or other upcoming games that I would like to cover. But I believe these four games are going to be my main objective going into the next couple of months šŸŽ®

The future is always scary, especially when I’m adding another job to my current workload. I am confident I can keep a relatively healthy work-life-balance moving forward but only time will tell if I can really figure it out šŸ˜…

That’s all I have to share for now. Thank you guys for stopping by and your continued support, I’ll see y’all very soon. Be well ā™„ļø

🧨 Welcome back to another Monthly Text Post!

June was certainly a hectic month, for content creation and my personal life. Although I’m still behind on my Batman Arkham Marathon, I’m now on the final game, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight šŸ¦‡

I’m very happy with my reviews of Arkham Origins and Arkham Knight. I honestly think Batman: Arkham Knight might be my best video of the year so far, really taking the time to dissect certain parts of the game to give well thought out criticism and general thoughts. Arkham Origins popped off in the algorithm and I’m very grateful for that. So far, I’m enjoying LEGO Batman and can’t wait to finish it out to round out this series of reviews šŸŽ®

As for what’s next, I definitely have to take the time and consider if I want to go back and play these ā€œolderā€ new releases from this year. I definitely want to play games like Yoshi, 007: First Light, Star Fox, etc. but I don’t have all the time in the world. That’s the sad reality of being an adult šŸ˜‚ I haven’t decided what’s next just yet but I know September & October are going to be CRAZY for new releases + I have a big ā€œanniversaryā€ video on a certain Sonic game in November šŸ¦”

I know I said I would limit myself on the gaming news videos but the industry keeps getting spicier and spicier šŸ’€ I’ll try to keep them brief and one to two videos a month like Sly 5 & PlayStation discontinuing physical discs. Both of those topics I’m very passionate about and felt the need to voice my opinion outside of the podcast, doing fairly well all things considered.

That’s all I have to share for now. I want to keep certain plans/ideas close to the chest but stay tuned as I finalize videos for the upcoming fall season. Thank you as always for stopping by and I’ll catch y’all very soon 😁

Quick Video Update: nearly done with Batman: Arkham Knight.

My script is definitely going to be the longest of the Arkham videos so far but I'm excited to get it by next Saturday.

It's the Batman game I have strongest feelings about and hopefully I get them all out on the page šŸ˜

Quick Video Update: Batman: Arkham Origins script is done & finished. Going to start chipping away at it for upload next Saturday.

I have a few ā€œnews-centricā€ videos in my head that I want to pump out throughout next week. Stay tuned šŸ˜Ž

ā˜€ļø well, well, well…back with another Monthly Text Post!

May was pretty successful; I managed to produce 2 reviews, 1 impression video, & 2 news-y topical videos.

Although my schedule for the Batman Arkham Marathon is still REALLY far behind, I’m going to keep pushing through until I finish the LEGO Batman video. I’m pretty happy with how the Arkham City video turned out and am currently chopping away at Arkham Origins šŸ¦‡

This game and Arkham Knight are the titles I’m excited to dive into the most. Mostly because of the negative reputation these games have. I loved Arkham Origins when I played it back in 2014 but how does it fare now? And my opinion of Arkham Knight was pretty sour back then but I’m going to try my best to play it with an open mind, hopefully by mid-June I’ll start it šŸ“…

My impression video on NBA THE RUN definitely came out of nowhere. Receiving the private Beta code was dope and I may pick it up on launch. My schedule is already booked as is as I plan to cover:

šŸŽ® Arkham Origins > Arkham Knight > LEGO Batman > Yoshi Switch 2 > 007: First Light

As for news-y topical videos, I said I wanted to do more of them after my Star Fox video and I had a lot of fun making the PlayStation Revival list. However, I might have to put them on pause just for a little bit šŸ“°

Probably going to limit myself to one of those a month if a topic comes by. The editing process on those videos is as taxing as a normal Game Review but without the planning/writing process, I can get it out much faster. I’ll still keep them in mind if & when a topic pops up but I seriously want to catch up to the newest game releases.

That’s all I want to share for now, thank you again for stopping by. I appreciate any & all support I get on my videos. Until next time, take care & be well! šŸ˜„

🌼 Holy, I totally remembered to do the Monthly Text Post for May šŸ˜…

Anyways, let’s talk about April and what’s to come for May šŸ‘‡

Video output did not meet my expectations but I still have my foot on the gas, constantly working on new videos. The biggest reason for this ā€œslow downā€ is new opportunities or pivots I’m doing. For example, I had the intention of putting my 100% into the Batman Marathon before LEGO Batman drops šŸ¦‡

However, I signed up to Keymailer for a review code of Mouse P.I. for Hire (next review btw) and happened to get a code for Starfield in the meantime. Ironic how I put my Fallout: New Vegas video on hold and then, I put time aside to play Starfield šŸ˜‚

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity but it definitely ate up a good 20-25 hours of my free time. Then, Mouse P.I. for Hire dropped in my inbox sometime between working on Starfield and Batman: Arkham Asylum simultaneously, so I’m still playing catch up in that regard šŸ“¹

Mouse & Starfield were obviously NOT on the agenda when I wrote last month’s Monthly Text post but when a new door opens, I am going to do everything to the best of my ability to deliver. The Batman Marathon is still on but it will be very delayed. I’m not going to stress myself out but I’m excited to dive into Arkham City, Origins, and Knight again before LEGO Batman 😁

REVIEW SCHEDULE: Mouse P.I. > Arkham City > Origins > Knight > LEGO Batman
*obviously, subject to change but this is the current plan šŸŽ¬

Another opportunity that popped up was the chance to play a preview build of Second Stone: The Legend of the Hidden World. It’s something I was working on behind-the-scenes with the devs to play it for the channel and share my thoughts on the build. It’s honestly a dope game and I cannot wait to see what the final/finished product will look like šŸŽ®

Most recently, Nintendo dropped the Star Fox Direct and I made a thoughts video + a TikTok/short. I’m trying to get into the habit of making ā€œnews centricā€ videos more often as I believe they will help grow the channel. They do eat up a few hours or so but not as taxing as a scripted video. It’s all coming from the dome 🧠

Regarding Travis talks Comic Books, I definitely put it on the back burner for most of April. Starfield and the upcoming projects take precedence but I’m still committed to trying to grow the channel out. Casually but I’m slowly working through some backlog content/video ideas I’ve had in mind for awhile šŸ“š

That’s all I have for now. Live Streaming is still on my mind but finding the time and energy to do it with my busy schedule is tough. Love and appreciate all the support on my videos. Be safe and be well everyone, I’ll talk to you guys very soon ā™„ļø

🐣 I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter holiday, here’s another Monthly Text Post!
Coming up: current video projects, my šŸ†• Comic Book channel ‪@travistalkscomics‬ , & the future of Live Streams.

Despite feeling SO BUSY in March doing some IRL shuffling, I managed to pump out four reviews; Resident Evil: Requiem, Scott Pilgrim EX, RUSHING BEAT X, and Life is Strange: Reunion. I feel extremely accomplished with the consistent content. I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon but I will try to take breaks in between. 🤪

Next, I plan to tackle the Batman Arkham games leading up to LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Some of these games I haven’t played in over a decade, so I’m interested to see how my opinion on the cape crusader’s most famous titles has changed. šŸ¦‡

My Fallout: New Vegas video is put on pause at the moment, I feel the additional time needed to finish the game + making the video would not be worth it right now. I definitely want to revisit it at some point but my Fallout kick from Season 2 has wind down. āš ļø

🚨 NEW CHANNEL ALERT ‪@travistalkscomics‬ 🚨

That’s right, I started up a new channel called ā€œTravis talks Comic Books,ā€ pretty much talking about my current comic book reads and whatever else related to the hobby. I’m keeping it super chill and laid-back, videos will happen when I feel like it + editing is very basic. I have a TON of ideas planned for the channel but I’ll produce them when I have the free-time. šŸ”–

I won’t let this new channel affect any progress on ā€œtvsonicgamingā€ content, it’s literally an outlet for me to talk and discuss comic books. Subscribe if you want, I understand the stigma comic books have about being ā€œvery difficult to get intoā€ or confusing as a whole but those are just myths. Comic books are a lot easier to get into than most people give it credit for and hopefully you’ll see a ā€œcomic books for dummiesā€ guide by your’s truly in the coming months. šŸ“š

Lastly, my future with Live Streaming. It was super fun playing RE9 on stream the week it came out but playing a new game launch day or weekend does not yield high viewership numbers. People are gonna want to play the game themselves and often don’t want to watch some streamer play it before they do. šŸ“ŗ

Views and numbers aren’t everything but it’s a lot more taxing playing a game on stream than off, so I won’t be doing that for the foreseeable future. It definitely generated some great TikTok content. However, I’m going to keep streaming as a casual thing. šŸŽ™ļø

However, games like Tomadachi Life, where you kind of make the experience out of your playthrough, is a totally different beast LOL I will try to stream it the day it comes out, probably in the evening on April 16th. I WILL be clip farming šŸ˜‚šŸ

That’s it for now, I have one more project to do before I tackle the Batman Arkham games. Thank you for stopping by and reading all this, subscribe to ā€œTravis talks Comic Booksā€ if you’d like. Otherwise, I’ll see y’all very soon. ā™„ļø
