Well, I have now played 3 Part 1 paths and 1 Part 2 path…..137 hours later. Here are my non-spoilery thoughts on each one:

🗡️ Dietrich - Unhinged comedy gold. The most unlikely crew of characters with an unbelievably endearing dynamic….I know first route bias is real but I have yet to find a crew that grabbed me as much as this one. Definitely also felt like it was tailor made for me, a former diehard Black Eagle (iykyk). I initially chose this route hoping for Fodlan lore and boy did it deliver lol The amount of references to FE3H is insane but being familiar with Golden Deer route (at least) is kind of necessary to understand the backstory.

👑 Theodora - almost chose this route at the start, but it was the perfect one to do after Dietrich, for the complementary lore. Theodora is totally Edelgard 2.0 (but better?) and while I didn't bond with her crew in the same way, I had THE most solid team by the end, holy cow lol. I’ve heard people recommend to do this route last because of the lore, and it does drop some whoppers so idk. I was engaged with the story from the very first moment (even if the initial baddie had my eyes rolling so far into the back of my skull)

🎵 Leda - unpopular opinion but I was least excited to play this route by this point, so I decided to not save it for last in case I was disappointed LOL Somehow characters whose primary motivation is revenge just never seem to appeal to me (I had this thought initially about Dimitri as well but he won me over). HOWEVER, she definitely has the most stacked set of units, especially for someone who favors mages, so I had a blast with these battles. I enjoyed the story way more than I expected, since it showed an entirely different side of the lore (more political drama than pantheon lore), and that was super neat to fill in some of the gaps with other characters whose actions we didn’t get to see. Also, A+ music for the whole route

**At this point I decided to try a Part 2, mostly to make sure I was building up my teams well enough before starting my last chance to recruit and train anyone lol I had heard the story in Part 2 will spoil Part 1, but I figured with 3 paths behind me it wouldn’t be so bad or hard to understand what was going on.**

👑 Theodora Part 2 - I chose Theodora because I figured it was my strongest army and it seemed the most fitting given the storyline as well. Definitely the right choice I think. It was nice to return to Theodora’s crew and see her really shine as a leader. The war phase is so exciting and stakes feel SO real lol. The difficulty jump is as insane as everyone says it is, but I was able to adjust and make it through. This part of the game is much more like classic Fire Emblem so if you prefer that, it’s worth it to get to this section. I enjoyed the fast pace, the scale of the maps, the real life terror I experienced trying to get everyone through alive LOL The lore drops at every scene had me at the edge of my seat the whole time too, so many things answered and so many more questions raised.

P.S. I played the first 3 chapters of Cai Part 1 last night and loving every minute lol

For YEARS you all have been asking me to put my music on Bandcamp, and the reason I haven't is....a bit complicated. While I use a distributor to take care of all of the licensing and accounting for my music on other platforms, for Bandcamp I would have to handle it entirely myself - from purchasing licenses in bulk up front (and hoping I make my money back), to dealing with the monthly revenue splits going out to my numerous collaborators. It's just prohibitively expensive and time consuming for a single artist enterprise like myself, especially if I'm not sure there would be enough interest 😢

However -- after saving up and planning quite a bit lol--I am planning a Bandcamp release for my upcoming album, so I thought it would be nice to test the waters by releasing another single first. I'll decide if it's something I want to continue moving forward based on how the album does, so I would appreciate your support by following on Bandcamp or purchasing this single!

So how about that Fire Emblem direct?? 🔥🔥🔥 If you're new here you may not know but I was OBSESSED with FE3H, a game I have logged more hours with than any other (320+!) I couldn't get enough of the music either, and covered or collabed on a bunch of tracks...I can't link playlists here but here is one of my most extra music videos, where I just slid myself right into Garreg Mach 🤣
