Hopelessness robs us of the delight of sacrifice.
There is a certain joy we get to feast on when we sacrifice with hope. But without hope, we are robbed of that joy because we have lost sight of God’s promises and what our sacrifice is unto. Hope keeps us locked into God’s goodness and positions our hearts in surrender and trust.

When the Israelites left Egypt, they took with them all of Egypt's gold. What did they do with that gold? They made a golden calf. God loves to bless His children, but the reality is that blessing in our lives can either be stewarded well and used for His glory, or can become an idol. We don't worship the gift, we worship the Giver. Matthew 6:33 teaches us to seek first the Kingdom of God. His Kingdom must always be our priority. When we keep our hearts anchored in trust in God, we will be amazed at how He will bless us and work in and through us to extend His Kingdom.
