Play Disney App discontinued tomorrow, September 16th. When opening the Play Disney App since August, this message is show: "The Play Disney Parks App will no longer be available starting September 16, 2026. We hope you've enjoyed the games, trivia and in-park adventures along the way. Thank you for playing!" Included in this App is Star Wars: Datapad and Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters. Rumors say Bounty Hunters will still work with MagicBands, but the mobile app was needed to scan in the bounty you found. Nothing announced on how that scanning will be done. The game was first released May 24th, 2019 update to the Disneyland portion of this app, days before Galaxy’s Edge first opened in Anaheim.

The 3rd release for Disney Park’s Build-a-droid Series 2 from their Droid Factory line will go on sale Friday September 4th, 2026. This will be R2-D2 as he appeared in The Clone Wars multiple episode arc when he was recruited to be a member of D-Squad. This will include the 3rd piece to build RX-01 from Skeleton Crew! This will be RX’s base while the previous releases included his head and body.

Nadia found R2-D2 in Black Spire Outpost to transfer the Death Star plans, but her Vader disguise almost beeped up the mission! R2 was a little spooked at first, but once he recognized Nadia from past visits, he let her copy the data straight to his database. Mission accomplished!

2nd release for Disney Park’s Build-a-droid Series 2 from their Droid Factory line goes on sale Friday August 7, 2026 in the parks and online at 7am Pacific Time. The droids are R0-M1 and RJ-83 from the Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures TV Series. They will include the next part (the head) for this Series 2 Build-a-droid RX-01 from Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

TODAY: The Droids of Batuu West Meetup

June 7, 2026

The Galaxy’s Edge Explorers are inviting you to bring your droids to Batuu West! We are returning to the Disneyland Picnic Area for the ultimate showdown: Droidracing! Dust off your Droid Depot-built “Bolt Babies” and see how they fare in the Batuu Summer Classic.

Not a racer? No problem! Bring your custom droids for an exhibition of your finest craftsmanship. The @droidsmithsunion will be on-site to showcase their incredible droids and custom Escape Pods as well as to inspire your creativity!

The Details

Since the racing and exhibition take place outside of the park, no tickets or reservations are required to attend this portion of the day! Everyone is welcome to watch, exhibit, or race—or all three!

Schedule of Events

1:00pm - Social Hour! Exhibit your droids, custom or stock, and discuss with your fellow Bot Lovers what you enjoy about our little robotic friends. Group Image Capture before the 2pm Races begin.

2:00pm - The Batuu Summer Classic (Picnic Area): Join us for racing and exhibitions!

4:00 PM – Group Image Capture in Batuu. Meet at the covered overhang area next to the Millennium Falcon with your droids as we get ourselves organized for an epic group photo.

Come for one, or come for both! Whether you can only make it to the races outside the gates or only have a reservation for the in-park meetup, we would love to have you join the fun.
