HEY, 

I NEED YOUR HELP WITH SOME NEW MUSIC 🎶🖤

I’m getting ready to really tap back into creating, and this time I want to bring some of YOU into the idea stage.

I’ve built a pretty big catalog at this point, so I’m not necessarily looking for people to tell me, “Make a love song,” “Make a breakup song,” or “Make a song about confidence.” 😂 I want you to go a little deeper than that.

Give me a SITUATION.
Give me a FEELING.
Give me a point of view.
Give me something somebody might be going through that you don’t hear talked about enough.
Give me a sentence somebody wishes they could say out loud.
Give me a story that could turn into a record.

A lot of my music already lives in different worlds.

I have the softer, emotional side — records about love, vulnerability, healing, wanting somebody, letting somebody go, becoming a stronger version of yourself, and figuring out what love even means to you.

I have records that feel grown, intimate, late-night and sensual without necessarily needing to be overly explicit.

I have my more soulful/neo-soul side with conversational writing, jazzy elements and music that feels like somebody sitting down telling you their story.

I also have the hip-hop side of me — the Brooklyn side, the gritty side, the side that can talk a little more slick, be competitive, be funny, be arrogant, talk accomplishments, talk money, fashion, survival, disrespect, boundaries, street situations, or just TALK MY TALK.

Then I have records that pull from my Haitian/Cuban/Caribbean background, records with Spanish guitar, island influences, different rhythms, and things that let me play with culture and atmosphere.

And lately I’ve been wanting to tap into my GRITTIER side even more.

So when you give me ideas, don’t worry too much about trying to figure out exactly what the beat should sound like. I can handle that part. 😂 I’m more interested in WHAT THE SONG SHOULD BE ABOUT.

For example, instead of:

“Make a song about a toxic relationship.”

Give me:

“Make a song from the perspective of somebody who knows the relationship is over, but they keep answering the phone because that person is still the only one who knows how to calm them down.”

THAT gives me something to write from.

Instead of:

“Make a song about being successful.”

Give me:

“Make a song about finally being able to afford the things you used to save pictures of, but realizing success feels quieter than you thought it would.”

See the difference? 👀

You can give me ideas about LOVE, lust, friendships, betrayal, family, money, growing up, getting older, confidence, revenge, jealousy, healing, being underestimated, success, loneliness, being the strong friend, nightlife, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Caribbean culture, women getting older and still feeling sexy, dating, marriage, situationships, social media, fake friendships, competition, fashion, luxury, ambition, starting over, feeling stuck, choosing yourself, or something completely different that I haven’t touched yet.

And please don’t feel like the idea has to come from YOUR personal life. It can be something you witnessed, something a friend went through, something you saw online, a random thought, a movie situation, a “what if,” or even one sentence that you think could become a crazy song.

You can also tell me what SIDE of BeBe Nyte you want to hear it from.

For example:

“Soft BeBe.”
“Grown & sexy BeBe.”
“Brooklyn BeBe.”
“Gritty BeBe.”
“Rap BeBe.”
“Island BeBe.”
“Heartbroken BeBe.”
“Petty BeBe.”
“Luxury/fashion BeBe.”
“Motivational BeBe.”
“Storytelling BeBe.”

Or mix them together.

“Give me gritty Brooklyn BeBe talking about finally making money but still thinking like the girl who didn’t have it.”

Now THAT could turn into something. 😂🔥

Also, if there is a song I already have that you LOVE, tell me that too.

You can say:

“I want another song in the world of ‘Still Becoming,’ but about ______.”

“I love the feeling of ‘Stay Awhile,’ but I want to hear you talk about ______.”

“I want something with the attitude of your harder records, but the subject should be ______.”

“I want something that feels like Bushwick at 1 AM.”

“I want something that sounds expensive.”

“I want something for women who ______.”

That helps me understand what part of my catalog connected with you while still allowing me to create something NEW instead of trying to remake an old record.

Most importantly, GIVE ME DETAILS.

Even if your idea is weird.
Even if it sounds too specific.
Even if you think, “She probably wouldn’t make a song about this.”

SEND IT. 😂

Specific ideas are usually where the best songs come from.

I’ll be reading through everything, pulling pieces that inspire me, mixing ideas together, changing perspectives, adding my own experiences and writing them in my voice.

You may hear one of your suggestions months from now and go…

“WAIT A MINUTE… 👀 I KNOW WHERE SHE GOT THAT IDEA.”
