Jiro made … something. Creative art outlet. I want to create and inspire others. Traditional analog and digital sketching, illustrating and painting. Focusing on ink and watercolor painting. It’s been many years since I regularly did any art and it will be a fun journey to re-learn and explore the various techniques to create something. Follow me and watch the progression of my skills and creations.
I currently have more of an illustrative style but want to push towards a looser and expressive art style, look up Bill Sienkiewicz’s art as an example.
Jiro is pronounced “Jee-row”
Looking forward to seeing you daily in the videos. Keep creating ✏️

My first Inktober participation and finished artwork. Check out the video and see the process of how I did it. I think I did ok. Day 1 prompt was “apple”. I combined two different ideas for the finished piece. Been away from art for over 5 years and Inktober is what pulled me back. Wanted to participate and hope to keep improving. Would love to hear some feedback on the video quality, style of video and the artwork itself.

Last day, September 30th before we head into the first prompt of Inktober. I was able to finish this video. Refilled my fountain pen with Platinum Carbon Ink and tried to learn the behaviors of how this ink is with water. Short answer: it’s easier to use a water soluble ink… I think I have enough of the basics of ink to have a fun Inktober. I will be posting daily videos of each sketching sessions. Thank you and enjoy the video 😊

I woke up to a 10 subscriber milestone on Sep 30, 2026! Currently at 12 subscribers as I’m posting this. THANK YOU EVERYONE! I appreciate each and every one of you. 9 days since uploading my first video, documenting how badly I lost my sketching abilities after a 5 year absence, and trying to get ready for #Inktober. It was a good reality check because the sketches were pretty tough to look at lol 😂 My sketching abilities is quickly improving and I expect some good challenges for Inktober with daily videos of each prompt. Next milestone is 50 subscribers and we’ll do some sketching / painting livestreams and hangout. Thank you everyone! You made this possible ❤️

I drew a bird, but it was what I found during the learning process that was surprising and satisfying. I briefly go over the basics of hatching and cross-hatching. Then render the studies. Felt really good when I finished 😊 What do you think?

I was so excited to sketch with my new Pilot Kakuno fountain pen but I was missing one key skill. So I taught myself how to do. I think I did pretty well 😊

September 21, 2026. I just published my first video for the channel. It was an interesting process. First was actually trying to remember how to do a simple sketch. Then finding out I’ve forgotten many basic techniques to sketch. It was important to document just how bad I’ve lost my skills and abilities. But that’s okay. I just know I’ll continue to improve every time I make something. I did find I really enjoyed the “urban sketching” style of ink and watercolor. That made everything worth it. https://youtu.be/HQiKzw0ngKE
