Nowadays there are a lot of people online who present themselves as experts or "gurus" on life. They sell courses, promise they'll teach you how to get rich, find happiness, or become the best version of yourself. Some of them genuinely have something valuable to offer, and some don't. Either way, it's surprisingly easy to get swept up by a 30-second clip or a perfectly edited YouTube video.
This song is about someone who's hit rock bottom and becomes convinced that the answer to all of his problems is a guru he discovered on Instagram. Desperate for a way out, he tries everything he can to get in touch with him only to realize that the version of life he was sold online never told the whole story. <3

I moved to Venice Beach this year (finally moved out of my parents' house lol). As beautiful as it is, it's also a place where you see the effects of mental illness and addiction every day. I've been dealing with some of my own struggles over the past few years, so seeing the impact—and where those struggles can ultimately lead—made this topic hit really close to home. This song is about a fictional homeless couple caught between their love for each other and the addiction they can't seem to escape.
