QUICK QUESTION:

How would you say "I don't know crochet" without actually saying "I don't know crochet"?

Here's an example:

My daughter: "Hey mom, I need a crochet mouse to complete my costume. Can you just whip one up for me real quick? Has to look just like the one in the picture."

My thoughts on attending the first ever H+H Fall Houston Event.

There were quite a few things I got out of this event.

The Newsletter class was awesome! Learned tips and tricks to write better emails and newsletters which I will definitely be using!

There was a Main Stage talk for Hosting Retreats, teaching classes in shops and making content. All things that felt directly beneficial to what I have going on right now. The tough thing about these talks is that there are so many different variables it was difficult to find specific information that I could take away. But it was still interesting to hear how other people are doing things.

The H+H Chicago event is typically 50% yarn and fibers, 50% Quilting. That’s what I’m use to seeing. The Houston H+H event felt like it was more 80% Quilting and 20% Yarn or fiber vendors.

I was bummed about that because I felt like I finished the thrill of walking the event after day 1. I was scheduled to be there 3 days….

I made the most of it though by spending more time creating and deepening relationships with yarn and notion brands. I’m so excited to grow those relationships as my own business grows and evolves.

Ultimately, I guess I did put higher hopes and expectations on this event thinking it would be similar to the Chicago event and for that it fell short. But I am extremely grateful I went. Because the new connections I made were incredible and the current connections I have were strengthened. 🥰

For that reason, I am excited for the next event I get to go to. And see all of these incredible people again. Maybe one day I’ll be experienced enough to talk on that big stage to help other people with their experiences. 😊

Have you ever found a yarn in your stash and thought, “Oh! I forgot about you”? Tell me about it. Can you remember what yarn it was and what project you had thought about making with it?

DAY 1 - we take the yarn out of the box 😂. Just kidding. We ask ourselves, “what do we want to make.” We know we’re making a shawl. But what kind of shawl? Did you know there are actually MANY different shawl shapes?

A follower recently asked me how to make a triangle shawl that is long width wise but NOT long down the back.

Her timing was actually perfect! Because now I’m going to show how I make it right here. But not only that, I’ll show my whole process bit by bit. Even when I mess up. 🤪

FYI, this was not affiliated in any way.

I posted a poll for which new Michaels Yarn you wanted to see a project made with. You voted the Katia. I posted a poll for which project I should make with it. You voted “Shawl”. I’m going to share this whole project with you from start to end. Make sure you follow me so you can join the journey and watch this happen. 💖🧶💖🧶 FYI No Affiliations. I bought the yarn you voted for. 😉
