My name is Dave Martin. For 13 years I was a Creo Parametric, Windchill, and Mathcad instructor and consultant. I taught the PTC classes for design, analysis, manufacturing, and routed systems. I also taught Creo Simulate, Creo Direct, and Creo Schematics.
If you are new to Creo Parametric, start with the videos in the playlists with 'Absolute Beginners' in the title. Then watch the playlists with 'Basics' in the title. If you go to my website, click the button that says, "New to Creo? Start Here" for free PDFs with directories of my playlists.
This channel provides learning on how to use Creo Parametric to design parts and assemblies and create 2D production drawings. It also shows how to perform Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tasks including CAD Data Management, BOM Management, Change Management, and configuration management.
This channel also covers Mathcad, Onshape, and SolidWorks.

Does anyone else have a cold right now? (I have a slight one and so many people I know in Seattle have one.)

This was the story of my high school years. Now it's in a museum. Anyone else recognize it? I spent so many hours playing "Gunship."

Blast from the past: Mathcad 4 found in the wild!
That's not Mathcad Prime 4, that's Mathcad 4. As in, Mathcad from 23 versions ago.
I came across this today at the Museu de Informatica at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). How crazy is that?

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
I'm starting a couple new series for the channel: "Follow Me" videos for Creo Parametric and Product Design videos that are non-CAD specific.
"Follow Me" videos are ones that don't require any CAD models. People can create parts, assemblies, and drawings by following along with the video. I generally have not done these for Creo because they didn't interest me. I will explain why that has changed. I am going to set more of my videos as premieres so people can chat or comment along with it. I am also adjusting the release times of my videos to match when more of my viewers are online.
I've seen a lot more promotion of "speed modeling" online and on social media. To me, speed modeling is like the Duolingo of CAD modeling. Just like Duolingo doesn't teach you how to speak a language, speed modeling doesn't teach good practices of CAD modeling and product design. It's a gimmick. It's like the difference between learning to play covers of songs and learning to compose music.
Furthermore, CAD modeling isn't product design. In the real world, you don't get an existing part drawing and have to duplicate the part model. Engineers don't design parts, they design products. CAD modeling is a tool that supports product design. It's not a game about who can replicate a part from a drawing the fastest.
These two series are intended to help fill a gap that exists in the CAD training world that I've thought about for a long time. Since CAD is a tool, the training addresses how to use the tool. But CAD training generally doesn't address proper modeling or actual product design.
To be clear, my Product Design videos will not replace an engineering education or real world engineering experience. They will barely scratch the surface of what real product design and product development (which is something different still) are.
Anyhow, if you have gotten to the end and like my ideas, please comment. Hit the Notify Me button for the tutorial video. Subscribe if you haven't. (My videos are getting buried on the platform.) Keep an eye out for future videos.
As always, I'm not selling courses or channel memberships and I'm not harvesting email addresses. To quote Captain America: Civil War, this is "to generate, disseminate, and preserve knowledge, and work with others to bring it to bear on the world's great challenges."
Thanks,
Dave

I don't cross-promote off my other channel often, but I am really proud of this video. I think it's the best video I ever made. I am walking down the City of Arts and Sciences here in Valencia Spain shortly after sunrise. I think the footage is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks to Tristar, I now have access to a Windchill instance, so I am making Windchill videos again.
These will be different than my previous videos. Before, my approach was to explain everything about a concept, because the viewer might never have had any Windchill training before. My new series is focused on getting right to the point of what you need to know, without a lot of background information.
I hope you enjoy! Please leave a like and a comment on the Windchill videos to let me know if you want to see more on this subject.

Here is some advice to college students. I can't believe I have to explain this, but here we are. When reaching out to a stranger (like me), where you are asking that stranger (me) to mentor and train you, do not state, "You don't need to pay me."
If I am going to help someone - if I am the one providing something of value - I will never expect to compensate someone for the privilege of helping them.
I think we're starting to see the effects of young people who spent part of their formative years in lockdown.
