I had a chance for an extended test ride of the the new Ducati Monster with the full Termi Exhaust System and Upmap Tune.

My take aways are as follows

-new engine low end tq feels amazing but it runs out of steam on top and you can really feel it, aka, no DESMO
-the new V2 frame felt rather cramped for me, I am 176cm or 5''10
-there is a significant handlebar vibration that I did not care for at all as it made especially my right hand feel numb rather quickly
-overall the bike feels very nimble and flickable and once you adapt to shift early it does mask the loss of top end power
-the factory termi system sounds great, I wish you would not have to spend another boat load of money to achieve this

With some more refinement, Ducati could have a real winner on their hands but in its current state, its a pass for me.

We are huge advocates of Track Days as a safe environment to learn and grow. Unfortunately a good friend ours became victim, when a Rider thought he had something to prove and Track Day Organizations create a format to encourage this behavior. We will discuss this issue in a forthcoming video once the dust has settled.
