Joe Gray
Hi, I’m Joe Gray.
I go by Gray Matter Lifting, that Garage Gym Competition Guy, r/Homegym Mod, and a bunch of other names in the home gym community. I have been lifting from my garage since 2013, alongside my wife, my daughter, friends and family… as I’ve chased down a 550lb Squat, 370lb Bench, and 630lb Deadlift.
Hopefully I can take some of that experience and help you track down your home gym goals.

#26FallGGC is officially complete, with full results available on the website.
We had over 400 lifters, raised more than $4k for Non Profits, added new 5 Year Club peeps, 499 and 999lb club members, we handed out free coaching services, a shit load of plate_snacks stickers, and we are already prepping and planning for what is next.
Prize Winners are already receiving their goodies... Stickers will ship in 2 weeks when my daughter has a day off from school. So expect them towards the end of November.
miniGGC will launch on Monday... And me and mr._adorable already got 2027 plans firing cause it is our 10 Year Anniversary!!!
I'll post a couple more data insights this weekend, and then the Fall GGC is officially DONE DONE DONE DONE... Thanks everyone for joining, participating, pushing some lifts, posting, you name it. See ya in the next one.

#26FallGGC Results Week opens with our Non Profit Donations
A whopping $4,452 raised for betterthroughthebarbell for their awesome work with kids.
This money comes from two pieces... I am donating $.01 per pound lifted, for a total of $3217. And all of YOU entering the pioneer_fit Belt Raffle raising an additional $1234!!!
BTW... The winner of the custom one of a kind belt is IG fitmattfatmatt
And the winner of the BTTB merch is Novel Panic on Reddit.
The check has been cut, in the mail today, and the funds will go to help them get more kids into physical programs throughout their area.
Huge shout-out to homegymcon for having BTTB at their event where we met up and started this conversation back in 2025.
We have crossed the $25k mark for total donations, with our eyes set for Year 10 next year to crush the record books!
