Pete’s back to finish the Bluetti Charger 2 installation in our Ford Ranger after the original setup hit a couple of hurdles.
The supplied cable wasn’t long enough for our setup, and we needed a way to remove the unit when travelling through really dusty conditions.
So, what was the solution? Pete takes us through the modifications, wiring, Anderson plugs and removable setup - then puts it all to the test! 🔧
And the charging results? We managed to combine alternator and solar power for some impressive charging performance. ☀️🔋

🚐 WHAT HAS TO GO? 😳 WE HAD 63KG TO ADDRESS!
When you're travelling Australia by caravan, it's amazing how quickly things accumulate.
A few extra kitchen items. Clothes we rarely wear. Spare cables. Extra food. And all that “just in case” gear.
Sound familiar? 😉
After our recent professional weigh-in, Pete and I knew it was time to take another good look at what we were carrying in our caravan.
So we went through everything, cupboard by cupboard and drawer by drawer, asking ourselves three simple questions:
👉 DO WE NEED IT?
👉 DO WE USE IT?
👉 IS THERE A LIGHTER OPTION?
And some of the decisions surprised us! 😅

Before we start deciding what stays and what goes, we needed to know exactly where we’re at with our caravan and tow vehicle.
So we headed to TT Weigh - The Travelling Weigh for a professional weigh-in.
Cameron and Morgan take us through our results, explain TARE, GTM, TBM, GVM & GCM, and share some really useful safety and weight-saving tips.
It was a great refresh for us and there were definitely a few reminders and takeaways along the way.

Pete and I DIDN’T EXPECT TO FIND THIS MUCH ADVENTURE JUST ONE HOUR FROM BRISBANE… 🚐⛰️🏝️
Ancient volcanic peaks. Pine forests. Mountain sunsets. Campfires under the stars.
And then… Bribie Island. 🌊
One base camp gave us two completely different Queensland adventures and some moments we definitely weren’t expecting.

🚐 ONE BASE. TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ADVENTURES. ⛰️🏝️
Who knew that just one hour from Brisbane you could find ancient volcanic peaks, peaceful pine forests, spectacular mountain views AND beautiful island beaches?
This Sunday morning, we’re taking you with us as we explore a very special corner of South-East Queensland.
Our base? 🌲 A beautiful hipcamp amongst the pine Xmas trees.
From there, we head into the Glass House Mountains… and then across to Bribie Island.
There are mountain summits, spectacular lookouts, campfires under the stars, local flavours, incredible sunsets… and a coastline that completely took our breath away. ❤️
