A new bonus video is now online.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUpeA...

This time, it is the short crossing aboard BC Ferries’ KWUNA from Skidegate Landing on Graham Island to Alliford Bay on Moresby Island, in Haida Gwaii.

KWUNA operates one of the more unusual local ferry routes in British Columbia. The crossing takes around twenty minutes and connects the two main islands of Haida Gwaii.

This video is a small supplement to the main Haida Gwaii film and focuses simply on the ferry, the route, and the crossing itself.

This short bonus video from the Haida Gwaii journey shows NORTHERN ADVENTURE arriving at Skidegate Landing on Graham Island.
The sequence focuses on the BC Ferries vessel's final approach and arrival after crossing from Prince Rupert.

Ferry NORTHERN ADVENTURE. My new video is now online.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7hsJ...

This time, the journey takes me to Haida Gwaii, off the coast of British Columbia. From Prince Rupert, BC Ferries’ NORTHERN ADVENTURE carries me across Chatham Sound and Hecate Strait to Skidegate Landing.

The film then continues beyond the ferry crossing. I travel across Graham Island to the north coast, later take the small KWUNA across to Moresby Island, and follow remote roads through the forest to Gray Bay.

Haida Gwaii feels far removed from mass tourism. The distance, the forests, the beaches, the low clouds, and the quiet atmosphere give the islands a very distinctive character.

JustFerries

In **October 2006, I filmed the first video footage specifically for JustFerries!** I had already been filming ferries and ships since the late 1980s, but this was the point when JustFerries! really began as its own project.

So **JustFerries! turns 20 this year**, and in 2027 this YouTube channel will celebrate its 20th anniversary as well.

I am thinking about making a special sometime in the second half of 2026 or the first half of 2027.

What would you most like to see?

1️⃣ 20 Years in Pictures
A carefully edited film featuring some of the most beautiful, interesting, and memorable footage from the past 20 years. No long explanations — mainly images, ships, places, and moments, accompanied by music.

2️⃣ My Favorite Moments
A personal selection of some of my favorite scenes from 20 years of filming. I would comment on the footage and tell you more about where it was filmed, what was happening at the time, and why those particular moments still mean something to me today.

3️⃣ The Story of JustFerries!
A look behind JustFerries! itself: how the project started, how it developed over the years, who is actually behind it, and why I make these films in the particular way I do today.

**Which one would you choose?**

A little Sunday extra from Canada. 🇨🇦

Today’s video follows CHI-CHEEMAUN as she leaves South Baymouth and begins her crossing back across Lake Huron.

The Canada block on JustFerries! has just started with CHI-CHEEMAUN.

There is plenty more to come, and I am curious which Canadian ferries interest you most.

The ferries listed here were not necessarily part of my travels in Canada this year. Some of these ferries can already be found on my channel. Just have a look through the Canada playlist, or use the search function with “JustFerries + ship name.”

JustFerries! is back in Canada. 🇨🇦

My new Sunday video is now online:

CHI-CHEEMAUN has been on my list for a very long time, and this summer I finally had the chance to experience her for myself.

The journey took me from Tobermory across Lake Huron to South Baymouth, with a few hours to explore Manitoulin Island before returning aboard the same ship later that afternoon.

The next JustFerries! project is entering the final stretch.

The edit is nearly complete, the last details are falling into place, and a journey I had wanted to make for a very long time is slowly becoming a finished film.

Which ship is it? That will remain a secret for just a little longer. But not much longer now.

Where do the passage videos go next?!

For most of this channel's life, the passage videos had no narration. Just the ship, the water, the sound of the crossing, music, and text on screen where something needed explaining. With the Scotland videos in 2024, I started adding a spoken intro, and later I narrated the films all the way through.

I had a lot of fun sharing little stories about the trip. Still, I also know that not everyone appreciated my narration, and that most of my viewers aren’t from English-speaking countries and were unfortunately left out (they still make up the majority of my visitors).

I always called this an experiment. After nearly two years, I have been thinking about letting it come to an end, and about what would take its place.

These are the two directions I am considering, from September/ October 2026 onwards.

One tap, nothing to write. Especially if you never comment, this is your moment.
