I might do a short video in the near future, but for now this post will suffice. Several people asked what my trip to Georgia was like.

Here's some quick details:

-About 9 family members came along in this van for the 5ish hour trip

-I saw a vending machine at a rest stop. You might consider this to NOT be a big deal, but I honestly haven't laid eyes on a vending machine in YEARS (I work from home...)

-For the first time in over two years, I slept in a bed that wasn't my own. Seriously, I've never spent a night anywhere aside from my own house since I moved in 2024!

-Between Friday at 1:30 A.M. to Sunday at 5:45 P.M., I only got around 12 hours of sleep

-Belgin waffles are AMAZING

-My uncle's horse Big Jake was very friendly, BUT walked backwards resulting in the cart we were riding in to nearly tip over before he started acting right; I almost died because if it did tip over about half an inch more then I probably would've fell off first since it was leaning over on my side

-Saw an electric car for the first time!

-We went to Augusta which is at the tippy top of the state and nearly THREE HOURS from Tyler Perry Studios (sadly, no way I was getting that picture outside of the studio...)

-The hotel pillows were comfy, but I don't think my skin was too fond of the material because my face broke out. Downside of having sensitive skin...

-My nephew is 16 and I'm 35 making us the YOUNGEST to go on the trip. To showcase my 'old man status' let me tell you how the two nights at the hotel went. My nephew was in a different room, but he probably stayed up late watching T.V. My parents, uncles, aunts, etc. are all 65+. While they were out bar hopping, I was in the hotel room watching The Andy Griffith Show on Pluto TV. I don't drink or party; I'm boring and I'm perfectly fine with it

Filming a movie in 4 days isn't that big of a shocker to any Tyler Perry fan that has known about his neck-breaking production schedule over the past several years.

The bigger issue in my eyes is the lackluster scripts and writing.

Overall, it doesn't matter what I think. The end result is that his shows and movies continue to reach Number 1, do crazy streaming numbers and whatnot.

It's just that I don't believe any of the media that he's put out since 2019 or so will have the longevity of the early days of his shows and movies.

Despite the enormous amount of films/shows that he's released since his initial deal with Viacom, I challenge you to give me FOUR Tyler Perry Studios projects that measure up to a Daddy's Little Girls, the first few seasons of House of Payne, The Family That Preys, etc.

When you look at it from that perspective, you could argue that there's no point in making media with substance and staying power considering he's already got a back catalog of hits that will remain popular for years to come.

It's kind of like when you feel that a particular franchise doesn't do it for you like it used to because you are no longer the target audience...

I woke up at 1:30 A.M. and whipped up a few videos (including some Why Did I Get Married Again) that will post today!

I really can't wait to do a live stream (with better Wi-Fi connection) so we can talk about the movie some more!

So, my family is leaving for Georgia SIX HOURS earlier than originally planned.

*This is exactly why I despise traveling anywhere in large groups because I'm a 'create a schedule and stick to it' kinda guy

Basically, I do not have anywhere near the amount of time that I thought I had to do content, pack, etc.

I have to go to bed soon, wake up early enough to get ready and we're heading out around 9:00 A.M.

My Why Did I Get Married Again content will have to wait until next week because I'll probably be back home around Sunday afternoon. Sorry about the live stream this evening. My Wi-Fi has been trash the past 48 hours.

I'm not putting too much hope into the thought, BUT I will ask my people if Tyler Perry Studios isn't too far off of the route we're taking because I would LOVE to be able to just get ONE picture of it so I can say I went there at least one time!

Trust me, I'll be cool if I go. You won't have to worry about seeing a news report of a crazed YouTuber trying to climb over the studio gates or anything.

Over on ‪@MyKindofEntertainment‬ I gave my initial thoughts on The Varnell Hill Show.

In my opinion, Tommy should've reprised his role as Varnell and made The Varnell Hill Show a REAL late night talk show. This workplace comedy that spends the last 3-5 minutes of an episode being a REAL late night talk show doesn't really do it for me.

Will the show get better over the next six episodes? If the upcoming episodes are like the first two, I don't see this series getting a renewal by Paramount.
