LOST MEMORIES
There’s a strange feeling I think many of us have experienced. Sometimes it’s just a scent, a quiet road, a certain kind of light, or a place we’re sure we’ve never been before. And yet, something about it feels strangely familiar. Not like déjà vu. It doesn’t feel like the same moment is happening again. It feels more like missing a place you don’t remember ever knowing.
And sometimes the opposite happens. We return to somewhere we know well, somewhere we remember clearly, and something just doesn’t match. A small detail is different, missing, or somehow feels as though it has always been that way. Of course, memory isn’t perfect. Maybe our minds simply forget, rearrange, or fill in things without us realizing it. But sometimes I like to think a little further.
If our lives are shaped by choices, then what happens to all the choices we didn’t make? We usually assume they simply never happened. But what if somewhere, somehow, another possibility continued? Another version of us chose differently, met different people, went to different places, and slowly lived a completely different life.
And maybe that strange feeling we sometimes get is just a tiny piece of something that belonged to that other path. Maybe that’s why there’s no clear memory attached to it. No face, no name, no moment we can actually remember. There’s only a feeling — peace, sadness, familiarity, a strange longing for somewhere we can’t name. Almost like being homesick without knowing where home is.
I don’t know if any of this is real, and maybe we’re not supposed to know. But I like this thought: maybe some memories were never lost. They simply belong to a life we didn’t choose — a life another version of us may still be living. And every once in a while, the only thing that finds its way back to us... is the feeling.

Healing Ether
People often say that each person’s destiny has already been decided for them. But I believe that sometimes, this is simply a way for us to hide the choices we made in the past—the choices we made ourselves, and whose consequences we must now live with.
No matter what religion you follow, I still believe that there are always choices placed in our hands. Faith may show you a path. It may give you hope. It may open a door in front of you. But whether you walk through that door is still your decision.
You have to prove that you are worthy of better choices through the way you live, the way you treat others, and the way you face whatever life puts before you.
I like to think of life as a tree.
Karma is the roots. Circumstances are the trunk. Choices are the branches. And the future is the leaves we cannot yet see.
You do not choose the roots from which you begin.
A child does not choose where they are born. They do not choose their parents, their country, their financial circumstances, their health, or the environment in which they first grow up. If we call these things the “fruits” of what happened before, then at the very least, I do not want to believe that a child is being punished for something they do not even remember doing.
Think about a child who has just been born. They do not know right from wrong. They have not hurt anyone. They have not chosen anything.
So if the Buddha represents compassion, I find it difficult to believe that a child must carry all the suffering of this life as a punishment for someone they do not even remember being.
Perhaps karma is not a sentence.
Perhaps karma is simply where you begin.
Someone may be born into poverty. Someone may be born into an unhappy family. Someone may grow up in a difficult environment. Someone may begin life with far fewer opportunities than others. That may be their starting point.
But it does not necessarily have to be their destination.
From that point, new choices begin to appear. A child born into poverty may continue living in poverty. But they may also learn, change, meet someone who changes their life, make a different decision, and create an entirely new branch.
You do not choose the roots from which you begin.
But that does not mean every leaf has already been decided.
And this also makes me think about God.
If God has given human beings free will, then saying that “everything is already planned” does not necessarily mean that every action we take has been written in advance. Perhaps He knows all the paths that could unfold. Perhaps He knows the choices we will eventually face. Perhaps He even knows things we cannot see yet.
But He still allows us to truly choose.
Imagine standing at the edge of a forest with many different paths. There are paths you cannot take because they have never appeared before you. There are paths blocked by circumstances. Some paths are wide and easy. Others are filled with stones, and almost no one wants to walk them.
But among everything life places before you, you are still the one who takes the step.
And perhaps this is what we often forget.
We cannot choose everything that happens to us. But we can still choose how we respond to it.
We should not use “destiny” to take responsibility away from ourselves.
“This happened because it was meant to happen.”
Sometimes, that thought helps us find peace with things we cannot change. But when we use it to justify every decision we make, it can become a way of escaping responsibility.
If I hurt someone and then say, “It was fate,” am I not turning a choice I made into something that exists outside of me?
Perhaps the more honest thing to say is:
“I cannot choose everything that happens to me. But I am responsible for how I respond to it.”
And that is why I do not believe life is completely written in advance.
Life may give us a starting point we never chose. But it does not necessarily give us a destination.
Karma may be the roots. Circumstances may be the trunk. But every decision we make creates another branch. And every new branch opens possibilities that did not exist before.
Perhaps the most frightening form of “karma” is not what we receive from the past.
It is what we continue to create from what we have received.
Someone born into suffering may turn that suffering into compassion. But they may also turn it into bitterness and pass that pain on to someone else.
The same starting point. Two choices. Two completely different trees.
So perhaps we do not need to obsess over the question:
“How has my destiny been written?”
Maybe the more important question is:
“Given what life has placed in my hands, what kind of person will I choose to become?”
Because you may not get to choose where you begin. But every day, you are still choosing where you will go.
And perhaps proving that you are worthy of a better life does not mean waiting for a better destiny.
It means making a better choice today than you made yesterday.

Healing Ether
The Gate is more than a gateway from ancient stories. It is a symbol of the moment we finally stand before ourselves, when ambition, possessions, and every burden we once carried fall silent.
No one truly knows what lies beyond. Yet across cultures and spiritual traditions, one simple truth continues to echo: a life is not measured by what we own, but by how we treat others when no one is watching.
If there is a gate that leads to peace, perhaps it does not open through power, status, or perfection. Perhaps it opens quietly, one small choice at a time, through the kindness, honesty, and compassion we practice each day.
In the end, what remains is not how far we traveled, but who we became along the way.

Healing Ether
Everyone fears the places we call **"the afterlife."**
But perhaps what is truly frightening has never been those places.
Perhaps it is spending an entire lifetime without ever discovering who we really are.
If realms like **Yomi**, **Duat**, or **Hades** hold any meaning, maybe they were never meant to frighten us. Perhaps they exist to remind us that, sometimes, finding ourselves requires the courage to walk through the deepest parts of our own soul.
What if the afterlife isn't found at the end of life...
But on the other side of the person we are today?
