The patriarchy’s biggest supporters are women themselves.

For those who don’t know and aren’t from India, Katrina has recently been facing unnecessary trolling over gaining some weight after her pregnancy. And honestly, why is this even a topic of discussion? Pregnancy changes a woman’s body. That is NORMAL. Women should not have to look a certain way just to avoid being judged.

Even in fandom wars, we see the same mentality. Fandoms get divided over women like Malhun, Bala, Nilüfer, Asporça and others, constantly pitting them against each other and asking, “Why is she getting more attention?” “Why is she treated differently?”

But why do we keep putting women against women?

Why don’t we question the man at the centre of it all about why he cannot treat both wives equally? And if someone cannot handle multiple marriages fairly, then why marry multiple women in the first place?

I came across a girl I don’t even know who was literally writing in a fight:

“Maha should first learn acting.”
“After ko. Maha is still jobless.”

Seriously, do these girls really think saying all this makes them look cool?~
No, idiot. After all this, you only end up sounding like a fool.~

# CHAPTER 36 — **THE twist :- last episode?

Silence.

The battlefield was covered in smoke.

Adrian and Zara lay motionless...

their hands intertwined.

Their eyes slowly closed.

And then—

**darkness.**

Adrian heard Zara's voice.

*"I love you."*

He smiled.

*"I love you too."*

Then everything disappeared.

The battlefield.

The blood.

Zara.

His kingdom.

Everything.

And suddenly—

**ADRIAN WOKE UP.**

He shot upright, breathing heavily.

His eyes were wide with fear.

His hands immediately searched around him.

"Zara!"

Nothing.

Only darkness.

Adrian looked around.

He wasn't on the battlefield.

He was inside his chambers.

He stared at the room, completely confused.

His breathing was still uneven.

"What..."

He slowly stood.

His hand moved towards his chest.

His heart was racing.

He looked towards the window.

It was still night.

For several seconds, he simply stood there.

Then the memories began returning.

The war.

Luice.

The battle.

His brother's death.

The exhaustion.

And finally...

the dream.

Adrian slowly closed his eyes.

"It was a dream..."

He whispered.

He remembered everything.

His own death.

Zara's death.

Their final moments.

The seven seconds.

Adrian opened his eyes again.

A strange fear remained in his chest.

But then another thought hit him.

**Why was he sleeping here?**

He looked around.

Papers were scattered across the table.

His sword rested beside his chair.

He had apparently fallen asleep while working.

After defeating Luice...

Adrian had been carrying something heavier than any wound.

He had killed his own brother.

Even though Luice had betrayed him.

Even though Luice had started the war.

He was still his brother.

And perhaps his mind had finally turned that pain into a nightmare.

Adrian rubbed his face.

"That was..."

He couldn't even finish the sentence.

Then suddenly—

he thought of Zara.

He immediately walked towards the door.

Then stopped.

He didn't know why.

But he needed to see her.

Just once.

To make sure she was really there.

Adrian opened the door.

He stepped into the royal chamber.

And there she was.

She wore a simple white nightgown.

Her long hair was spread across the pillow.

A few strands had fallen across her face.

Adrian stood at the doorway.

And just looked at her.

His breathing slowly became normal.

She was alive.

Safe.

He walked towards the bed.

Very quietly.

He sat beside her.

Zara didn't wake.

Adrian smiled faintly.

"You're really here."

He gently moved the strand of hair away from her face.

Then leaned forward.

And placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

Zara remained asleep.

Adrian smiled.

For the first time since waking...

he felt completely calm.

He moved to the other side of the bed.

And then noticed something.

The pillows.

The same pillows they had once placed between them.

Their ridiculous little boundary.

Adrian stared at them.

A small smile appeared on his face.

He shook his head.

"Still there?"

He quietly laughed.

The woman sleeping beside him had once been his greatest enemy.

Once, they had needed pillows to keep them apart.

Now...

he couldn't imagine sleeping without knowing she was beside him.

Adrian lay down.

He looked at Zara one last time.

Then closed his eyes.

The night passed peacefully.

Soft sunlight entered the chamber.

Adrian was already awake.

He stood near the balcony, looking over the kingdom.

The Vampire Kingdom was slowly waking.

People filled the streets.

The palace guards changed shifts.

Zara slowly opened her eyes.

She looked around.

Then saw him.

Standing near the balcony.

"Adrian?"

He turned.

A smile immediately appeared on his face.

"You woke up."

Zara slowly sat up.

"What were you doing?"

"Watching my kingdom."

She walked towards him.

Then stopped beside him.

For a moment, they both looked over the kingdom.

Zara quietly said,

"Everything feels different."

Adrian looked at her.

"It is."

She turned towards him.

"Because the war is over?"

Adrian shook his head.

"Because you're here."

Zara smiled.

Before she could say anything...

Adrian opened his arms.

She stepped into them.

He pulled her close.

Zara rested her head against his chest.

Adrian held her tightly.

"You came back."

Zara looked up at him.

"So did you."

Adrian smiled.

"I told you I would."

Zara's fingers gently held his clothes.

"I was scared."

"So was I."

She looked surprised.

"You?"

Adrian laughed softly.

"Don't tell anyone."

Zara smiled.

"Your secret is safe."

Adrian gently touched her face.

Then kissed her forehead.

Again.

But this time...

there was no fear behind it.

Only love.

He looked towards the kingdom.

Zara followed his gaze.

Together, they stood at the balcony.

The King.

The Queen.

The survivors of a war that had nearly destroyed everything.

Adrian held Zara's hand.

And below them...

their people looked towards the palace.

Their King had conquered his enemy.

Their Queen had stood beside him.

And together...

they had survived.

Adrian looked at Zara.

Zara looked back.

Neither needed to say anything.

They had finally become what neither of them had ever imagined.

Not enemies.

Not strangers.

Not two kingdoms forced together.

But **King and Queen.**

Husband and wife.

Their swords were raised.

"Stay close."

Zara immediately looked at him.

"Don't start."

even in the middle of war...

Then the sound of a horn echoed across the battlefield.

"I finally understood what strength is."

Luice's expression hardened.

he attacked.

"And suddenly my brother forgot what he was."

"That being a King doesn't mean destroying everyone around you."

Luice attacked her.

Adrian came between them.

Their swords collided again.

The fight became faster.

A tear fell from her eye.

"Don't apologise."

Adrian looked at her.

"I promised you I would return."

Zara slowly moved closer.

"You did."

Adrian's eyes widened slightly.

Zara whispered,

"You came back to me."

His eyes filled with tears.

For several seconds...

they simply looked at each other.

The battle was still happening around them.

But their world had become quiet.

Adrian gently lifted his hand.

His fingers touched Zara's face.

"You know..."

His breathing became weaker.

"Our first marriage was terrible."

Zara laughed weakly through her tears.

"It was."

Adrian smiled.

"And the second one?"

Zara closed her eyes for a moment.

"The best decision of my life."

Adrian stared at her.

His eyes filled completely.

Zara whispered,

"I would choose you again."

Adrian's breathing shook.

"Zara..."

"In every life."

His hand tightened around hers.

"In every life."

Adrian repeated.

Zara smiled.

Their foreheads slowly touched.

Adrian closed his eyes.

"I love you."

Zara's voice was barely a whisper.

"I love you too."

Their soldiers had reached them.

Zara looked at him.

"Adrian?"

"Are you afraid?"

Adrian looked at her.

he was silent.

Then he smiled.

"No."

Zara frowned weakly.

"Why?"

Adrian gently pressed his forehead against hers.

"Because you're here."

Zara began crying again.

Adrian wiped one of her tears.

"Don't cry."

She laughed weakly.

"You always tell me that."

"And you never listen."

Zara smiled.

Their breathing became slower.

Their hands remained together.

Zara whispered,

"Adrian..."

"Yes?"

"Hold my hand."

Adrian tightened his fingers around hers.

"I'm holding it."

"Don't let go."

"Never."

Zara closed her eyes.

Adrian watched her.

"Zara?"

She slowly opened them again.

"I'm here."

Adrian's voice broke.

"I love you."

Zara smiled.

"I know."

Adrian almost laughed.

"Arrogant."

Zara smiled weakly.

"Your fault."

For the last time...

Adrian looked at her.

Not at the Queen.

Not at the warrior.

Not at the daughter of the Human Kingdom.

Only at Zara.

The woman who had changed his entire life.

He slowly kissed her forehead.

A long, gentle kiss.

When he pulled away...

The palace was quiet.

Too quiet.

Zara stood in front of the large window of the royal chamber.

Her eyes remained fixed on the distant mountains.

Somewhere beyond them...

Adrian was fighting.

Injured.

Surrounded by enemies.

And Zara could do nothing but wait.

Her hand slowly moved towards the ring Adrian had placed on her finger.

Her mind returned to his words.

**“In my absence, this kingdom is yours.”**

Zara closed her eyes.

"I know."

She whispered.

"I know."

She had tried.

She had stayed.

She had given orders.

She had sent reinforcements.

She had protected the palace.

But her heart...

refused to become calm.

Something inside her felt wrong.

Every time the palace doors opened, she turned around.

Every time a messenger arrived, her heart stopped.

Every time someone said the word *battlefield*...

she imagined Adrian lying somewhere alone.

Her eyes suddenly opened.

"No."

Zara turned away from the window.

She walked quickly towards the doors.

A guard standing outside immediately straightened.
