In this lesson, we'll review some of the most common Hungarian words and expressions used to translate "like", with simple examples to help you understand how to use them in everyday conversations.

🔹1. MINT = Like / As
We use ( mint ) to compare people or things.
Example:
- He is an engineer like me. - Ő is mérnök, mint én.
🔹2. SZERET = To Like / To Love
We use (szeret) to talk about things we enjoy or like doing.
Example:
- I like coffee. - Szeretem a kávét.
🔹3. TETSZIK = To Like / To Find Something Appealing
We often use (tetszik) when we like something because it looks, feels, or seems good to us.
Example:
- I like this city. - Tetszik ez a város.
🔹4. ÍGY / ÚGY = Like This / Like That
We use ( így ) and ( úgy ) to describe how something is done or the way something looks.
Example:
- Do it like this. - Így csináld.
🔹5. PÉLDÁUL = For Example / Like
We can use (például) when we want to give an example.
Example:
- Like what? - Például mit?
🔹6. HASONLÓ = Similar / Like
We use *hasonló* to describe something that is similar to another thing.
Example:
- Something similar to yours. - Valami a tiédhez hasonló.

The English word ( like ) doesn't always have one direct translation in Hungarian. Instead of memorizing just one word, try to understand the meaning of the whole sentence. This will help you speak more naturally and choose the right Hungarian expression in everyday situations.
