Sword of Honour ⚔️

Flt Lt Alamdar had graduated from PAF Academy Risalpur on the 8th of October, 1972. The 'Sword of Honour' presented to him by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. ZAB became so emotional on seeing this beautiful specimen of a human being that he broke protocol, came down from the dais, and hugged him.

Risalpur has remained at the heart of Pakistan’s military aviation history since the Flying Training School was established there in September 1947. The first training sortie took place on September 22 that year, while Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah visited the institution in April 1948. The academy later received college status and was formally designated an academy in 1967. Over the decades, Risalpur has trained generations of Pakistani military aviators and produced figures associated with the country’s aviation history. Modern cadets undergo academic studies, military training, physical conditioning and flying instruction before moving into their respective branches. Pakistan’s first four female fighter pilots also graduated from the academy in 2006. Nearly eight decades later, Risalpur continues to represent Pakistan’s long-running tradition of military aviation training.

He went into the sky as an instructor.
He returned to his Creator as a Shaheed.
And he left behind a legacy of courage that will never fade. 🇵🇰

Yesterday marked the 32nd Shahadat Anniversary of Flight Lieutenant Mujahid Ali Shaheed, 85 GD (P). A brave son of Pakistan and a true hero of the Pakistan Air Force.
On 19 September 1994, a T-37 took off from Risalpur on a routine training mission. During the flight, the aircraft developed a serious emergency while recovering from a practice spin maneuver, and within moments, an ordinary training sortie turned into a fight for survival.
In those critical moments, Flight Lieutenant Mujahid Ali, the instructor pilot, displayed extraordinary courage, presence of mind and devotion to his duty. Realising the gravity of the situation, his first instinct was to protect the life entrusted to him.
In an ultimate act of self-sacrifice, he made sure his student ejects safely first.
When he finally attempted to eject himself, precious seconds had already been lost. It was too late to save his own life.
He gave his life so that another could live.
Flight Lieutenant Mujahid Ali Shaheed was not merely an instructor. He was a guardian in the truest sense, a man who placed another human life above his own, and duty above everything else.
He went into the sky as an instructor.
He returned to his Creator as a Shaheed.
And he left behind a legacy that time can never erase.
A true hero.
A courageous son of Pakistan.
A Mujahid in the truest sense of the word. 🇵🇰
May Allah Almighty grant Sir Mujahid Ali Shaheed and Sir Asim Paracha Shaheed (who also got shahadat later in 2011) the highest مقام in Jannat-ul-Firdous, shower them with His infinite mercy, and grant strength, honour and patience to their families.
Ameen.
Shaheed ki jo maut hai, woh qaum ki hayat hai. 🇵🇰
Salute to all such heroes who gave their tomorrow so another could see another day.

Flt Lt Mujahid Ali Shaheed
Forever remembered. Forever honoured. 🇵🇰.
He returned to his Creator as a Shaheed.
And he left behind a legacy of courage that will never fade. 🇵🇰

An F-104B flown by Flight Lieutenant Aftab Alam Khan of No 9 Squadron at Sargodha AB, on a high speed reconnaissance mission over Halwara, on 9 September 1965.

In the environment of the India-Pakistan War, the low-speed RT-33 photo reconnaissance fleet of the PAF was rendered obsolete, for missions deep into enemy territory, and over heavily defended targets.

There was an urgent requirement to survey the enemy concentration at the forward airfields and to observer the effectiveness of PAF's B-57 night bombing raids. To fulfill this need, the PAF immediately employed the F-104B. The rear seat observer operated a hand held camera and made visual observations; in this case it was Squadron Leader M. L Middlecoat.

En route the aircraft was flown at tree top level, at a speed of 600 knots. Approaching the target the aircraft was accelerated to a speed greater than Mach 1. In this way the high speed capability of Starfighter was fully exploited. This was the first time such a profile was flown by a F-104 pilot. The mission was so successful that it was later repeated several times.
