A 19-year-old Michigan man is facing felony charges after allegedly intentionally running over a 14-year-old boy riding a minibike with his Dodge Ram. Police say Owen Wheeler was seen hanging out of his truck window and yelling at the teen before striking him and fleeing the scene, leaving the boy with two spinal compression fractures. Investigators say Wheeler later bragged about running over a kid on Snapchat before claiming his truck had been stolen. According to court documents, a passenger told police Wheeler became enraged after mistaking the teenager for someone else.

A South Carolina woman was sentenced to 35 years in prison for shooting her husband's female companion to death with a pink gun after tracking him down through his Google account. Michelle Bingley, 43, told investigators she "lost her mind" after finding her husband sitting in a car with Tineseing Johns and refusing to get out. Bingley fired into the vehicle, striking Johns, who later died at the hospital. Bingley eventually admitted to investigators, "I killed somebody," and was convicted of murder and several weapons charges.

Judge William Sullivan is expected to hear arguments on the defense's motion to dismiss the case on double jeopardy grounds following September's mistrial, when jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Prosecutors are fighting the dismissal, arguing the mistrial was properly declared and that the Commonwealth should be allowed to pursue another trial. The judge will also consider several other outstanding motions, including a prosecution request to limit attorneys' public comments about the case.

An Oklahoma man is facing two counts of first-degree murder after allegedly killing his pregnant girlfriend, 28-year-old Stephanie Strock, and their unborn child. Police discovered Strock dead inside a Heavener home on October 26 during a welfare check, with investigators later determining she had been pregnant. Authorities allege Austin Morrison, 28, was with Strock earlier that evening and physically assaulted her before identifying him as a suspect. Investigators later found Morrison walking near the residence and arrested him; he remains jailed as the investigation continues.
